Sooo not fair it's been great lately!

And I've never heard of these awards! Which soap was a previous winner?

They're the Royal Television Society Awards.

Past winners:

2006 - Emmerdale
2005 - Coronation Street
2004 - Coronation Street
2003 - Coronation Street
2002 - EastEnders

And I agree - EE doesn't deserve to be snubbed.

With storylines like the whole Rob/Dawn/May saga and Max/Stacey's affair I can't say I'm surprised.

Oh well..... at least the Top Gear guys are up for best presenter

Just think of it as rough justice for all the awards they've won in the last few years, none of which they deserved.

^ They have deserved them. I think ee has portrayed some very difficult storylines very well, and should win, or at least be nominated for, the awards that it deserves.

Well with better viewing figures than The Bill and E/Dale it's weird how they have been snubbed.

Still rather odd they are all ITV shows aswell..

To be fair, there have been years when ITV haven't been represented at all. One year the nominations were EastEnders, Doctors and Hollyoaks!

i never thought that The Bill was a soap, i always thought it was a long running serial drama, like Casualty or Holby City.

I think that Hollyoaks should be there aswell, they have had great storylines this year

eastenders is garbage.

the awards they win are the ones voted by teens by text

anything slightly serious, and they dont stand a chance

Come on Emmerdale! Aside from the Tom King stuff it's been a good year for them. Little bit of character consistency and mostly plausible storylines, something the EE producers have yet to encourage. The ridiculous Stacey/Max relationship springs to mind.

June Brown arguing over her storylines explains the state of EE better than I ever could.
