Broken U880
Ok just dropped my LG U880 for like the millionth time, up until now it's all been fine, a bit of the plastic on the hinge broke off at one point, but it still worked. Now though i drop it, not even that badly, and the screen fell off. Didn't think it was too bad till i realised that actually one of the metal caps has broken off with the rest of the screen severing some wires. Now the screen doesn't work at all. the rest of the phone works, I can make calls, but err... can't see to who, and can't obviously hear anything!
I was just wondering if anyone thinks it's worth going for an online repair site. or, could I just buy another U880 on the cheap? And just swap the sim over? It's on a fairly pricey contract so i'm hoping i haven't lost it yet! Any suggestions or that would be great. |

You need to get a quote for repair and do some research into the price of a replacement. Then you can make the decision.
If I was you I would invest in a more rugged phone that can cope with being dropped regularly. Or by a wrist strap. |

But looking online, and i'm not technical at all here, i think it could just be a broken ribbon cable. Thing is it's not the LCD or the top bit thats broken, its just that one little wire. I'm sure i could find some electrical engineer round my uni that could replace that heh.
