5.1 Speaker packages?
Hi people,
I was wondering what people think about the "all in one" type 5.1 speaker packages? I dont want to mess around with buying seperate speakers and a 5.1 receiver because im lazy and dont want to spend that much, so i thought this was the best way to go. Ill be buying them for movies anf music and Ive got a budget of about £250 MAX Was kind of hoping some of you might have some suggestions for good systems? Ive had a look around, but barley any systems i find have decent reviews for them. Thanks Uziel |

Not a fan of these all in one packages. They represent poor value for money the majority of the time. Build/sound quality can be very poor. In addition to this, many of the budget systems have limited connections for external equipment.
Therefore I would recommend you look at a package comprising of separates. They can still be bought as a package but the processing side (amp/receiver) and speakers are not dependant on one another, you can upgrade either component in the future if you wished, unlike many of the all in ones. I have recommended the Yamaha AV59 a few times, I feel this is good value for money, this is well within your budget, you will even have some change from your £250. I'm pretty sure you will be able to find some online reviews for this system. Yamaha AV59 |

Whatever you get make sure it has enough inputs. People are often on here asking how they can connect new kit to these all in ones but the things do not have enough external connections.
NB The Yamaha suggested by Tommy does have 3 digital inputs so that should be OK. Richard |
