Justin Hawkins is to compete against former East 17 singer Brian Harvey and former Atomic Kitten star Liz McClarnon for the chance to represent the UK at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.
Pop group Scooch, who scored a top five hit in 1999 with 'More Than I Needed To Know', have reformed to compete in Making Your Mind Up, the BBC's Eurovision trial.
The contest will also showcase songs from R&B stars Big Brovaz, who have scored seven top 20 hits since they released their debut single in 2002, and French singer Cyndi.
Former The Darkness frontman Hawkins will compete in the contest as a duo with soul singer Beverlei Brown.
Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up will be broadcast on BBC One in March. It will be presented by Sir Terry Wogan and Fearne Cotton.
Oh my, Scooch reforming...this is too good to be true, lol! I think we should send them!
Oh and....
Justin Hawkins has vowed to be involved in the Eurovision Song Contest for the rest of his life.
The former frontman of flamboyant rockers The Darkness is to compete on the BBC's Eurovision trial Making Your Mind Up as a duo with soul singer Beverlei Brown.
However, even if their song 'They Don't Make 'Em Like They Used To' is not chosen to represent the UK, Hawkins insists that he will enter another record for next year's trial.
He said: "Eurovision is a world of its own - there's no telling what might happen! I want to be involved in Eurovision for the rest of my life."
Wouldn't it be funny if he entered every year and we didn't choose him, which in all likelyhood will happen...
