Sky Remote issue?

Ive just bought a new tv and can get volume to work on sky remote it works on tv remote any ideas? thank you

you need to put code for tv into remote. also your remote might be too old rev8 is the most recent

I had the same problem with my Panasonic plasma, then bought the newer remote on ebay for £8.99 and it worked with the first code I tried. The rev8 is the silver handset but be careful because I think some of the slightly earlier revisions are silver too, so make sure it says rev8 before you buy.
