Maybe cos I was already on Max Pack it doesnt seem that different. Free od just seems to be C1 Taste revamped.
Havent looked at 4od yet. |

4 Replay TV looks disjointed - why cant it be on the main CH4 menu as R like it used to be.

The odd thing about this 99p on demand for shows already broadcast is that if you have PVR the concept becomes redundant doesnt it ?
Surely this cant sustain itself going forward |

Like I said previously (and the Tiscali letter said), 4oD is free. Only 'premium series' are 99p/episode and these are clearly marked.
It beggars belief that people can possibly whinge when they've just got several new channels of content (much of it free), the return of C4 replay and a substantial reduction in their monthly subscription. What, exactly, will make some of you people happy?! |

![]() But seriously, I totally agree with you. I was really pleased to see 4OD today and if need be will pay 99p for an episode of something I want to see. Its that old saying about people only being happy when it rains. If HC/Tiscalli was a totally free service people would still moan, even if there was a free holiday

Absolutely. There are hours of free stuff I will watch on 4OD. Combine that with the stuff on C1 I may never watch TV at the correct time again. Hurrah. And is it me or is the EPG on the 4 OD channels really fast compared to how C1 used to be?

well yet more hc/tiscali customer service fun.
i got a bill today, should have had one month free cos they cut me off by mistake and left me with no net for a week, so offered me a paltry free month. The bill i did get was totally wrong, wrong price wrong package, nothiung free and even charged me installation fee! called cs and said i want my month free and to change package to the 8 meg and anytime calls for £17.99. got lots of ums and errs and BS then put on hold. they came back, oh we dont offer an 8 meg and calls package only 4 meg. WRONG idiot cs its on the website. so i got.. oh well you cant downgrade your package cos its a new account blah blah blah. wrong again its not a new account its a 3 year old account HC screwed up on, secondly nothing says you cant change packages and that includes downgrading, 3rd back in september 2005 when homechoice upgraded to 8 meg they offered broadband and phone only packages which i signed up for. Then 2 months later they scrapped it but as far as im concerned thats the package i signed up for and thats the package i want so its not a downgrade. maybe i should put a bill in to HC for charging me for triple play for 18 months. The website is a mess it takes you to tiscali packages yet its not working so you cant change em, and if you phone the cs number there accounts havent been migrated yet so they dont have any records for HC customers. Oh and also seeing as im allegedly a new customer im still in my 7 day cooling off period, PLUS i havent signed any contract so for the idiot cs i spoke to say i cant downgrade, well downgrade from what exactly cos i never specified my package or agreed to the package im on. Anyway he said he would get me a callback from a manager tonight. well thats more damn lies cos HC cs still closes at 8pm. at least tiscali customers have CS until midnight. Looks like im gonna have to wait another day or two but for sure theres gonna be hell to pay, cos the past 2 weeks of CS and HC overal has been a complete and utter shambles |

Channel 4 makes catch-up TV free to use
http://www.dtg.org.uk/news/news.php?...lass=0&id=2277 Channel 4 is switching the business model for its seven-day online catch-up TV service 4oD from pay-per-view to free, supported by advertising. Each requested show will be delivered to broadband users on both a streamed and download basis from March 26, preceded by two commercials playing for 30-seconds followed by a 4oD ident. Sponsors will be able to extend their on-air association with shows with a 10-second sponsorship clip played immediately before the programme starts. Channel 4 is making all its commissioned content free-to-view up to seven days after shows are broadcast on TV. Advertisers already signed include Halifax, Warner Bros Entertainment and Paramount. Launched in December, 4oD had charged 99p per download. Channel 4 CEO Andy Duncan said: "As a global pioneer in video-on-demand, we are exploring a range of different business models on the platform, learning valuable lessons in how consumers use the service. 4oD will now offer a hugely exciting new opportunity for advertisers and I'm delighted that once again Channel 4 will be at the forefront of this developing market." 4oD will continue to charge for premium US series as well as shows from the Channel 4 archive. Later this year Channel 4 intends to introduce a subscription service. ITV joins the fledgling catch-up TV market later this month with its service offering most programmes on a free-to-view basis. |

Telephone call charges are interesting.
Existing HC customers pay 5P/min to the USA. New Tiscali customers pay 7.2-12P minute That is steep. I make a LOT of US calls. I won't be switching to Tiscali TV package. |

you proberly find that only new customers will be tiscali
from 1st march people who joined before the 1st of march who would have been homechoice customers are still homechoice customers but rebranded to tiscali so infact you could say homechoice/Tiscali and not just tiscali as people who sign up now would be. i think they done it this way to honner the terms and conditions and the packages we homechoice customers signed up for. the tv packs are the same on both homechoice/Tiscali and Tiscali. the broadband is the same but with one difference! tiscali has a fair usage policy of an evening and weekend in other words your internet speeds may drop at these times depending how you use it. w hat is a fair usege policy (fup) homechoice/tiscali dosent! telephone charges are slightly difrent between homechoice/tiscali and tiscali hope that helps to clear up a few things but this all might change in the future
