Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this please. I have recently rearranged my home entertainment system and now when watching my DVD player, I appear to get a ghosting image (I'm not sure where from) in the background of the picture - this is especially noticeable when it is a dark or completely black scene. It is some sort of picture moving in the background, sort of like a ghost image.

On my tv stand, I have my Toshiba 32WLT lcd tv on the top. On the shelf below I have my Denon AVR 1907 AV receiver and my gamecube. On the shelf below I have my B&W centre speaker with my Panasonic dvd player on top of it. My dvd player is connected via a scart box which also has the gamecube plugged into it. The scart box is not new, I have been using this for years.

Does anyone have any ideas on why I am getting this ghosting image and how to fix it as it is getting quite annoying.

Thanks in advance,

Graham.

Hi,

Thanks for the help. I will go and do that when I get a chance. Do you have any idea what might be causing the interference anyway? Just out of interest.

Thanks,

Graham.

Also,

Does anyone know the best place to buy shielded scart leads from? I live in Glasgow but am perfectly happy to order online as well. So in store or online is fine. What sort of price am I looking at? I had a look at Tait's website, but they didn't state if the scarts were shielded or not - will have to go in and speak to them sometime.

Thanks,

Graham.

just goto b&q or tesco.

oxygen free is a sure sign its off a suitable standard. dont pay too much £15 to £35 each

b&q are thor i think

the interference is just all your equipment leaking signals and the cables pick this up as well as transmit.

make sure they are fully pinned- they should be but just check so you can always use them

Not used these people but they get reccommended on here. Says screened and oxygen free. What you think niall?

They also do more expensive (and cheaper ones).

I got most of mine from futureshop who I can recommend but more expensive.

yes they look good at £12 delivered.

why not buy one and see if they are any good. you could always buy more if they seem okay. you only need one at the moment as you say its your dvd one causing problems

The TV you have has 2 HDMI ports I think, I'd suggest getting a DVD player that outputs via HDMI. Not a cheap solution but the best solution by far. I am ultra impressed with the PQ on my HD-DVD player with both HD-DVD and SD-DVD.

yes when you upgrade get hdmi its the future and cables have to be off a certain quality so cheap will be good.

check it out, click on installer and take the tour. if you get ps3 or x-box360 dont blame me for splashing the cash
