So I woke up this morning and thought I might carry on watching some more Prime Suspects 3. But guess what - it's gone! As has most of the other on-demand content. Taste C1 has been replaced by FreeOD which has about six programmes (!) and the chances that they might make C1 part of the Base Pack is not looking good (loads of stuff has gone from there, and it's a lottery whether it lets you watch a programme or says 'sorry-you are not a subscriber to this content'). I'm hope they'll add more stuff soon, otherwise Tiscali TV is not looking good.

As I understand it C1 isn't in the Base Pack and never has been. FreeOD replaces Taste C1, and provides the 100hrs free programming. Surely if you want to watch C1 you need to subscribe to a packge that includes it...

I quite like the updated TV Guide layout (ok, it's not that different, but the space is better utilised). 4oD and C4 Catch Up are welcome additions - hopefully there are more in the pipeline too.

Yes C1 has never been part of the Base Pack (apart from when it was Channel of the Month).

C1 gone ? I still have it with all the same content as I did before.

If you dont subscribe to C1 you now have Free VOD.

I dont really see whats missing. Nothing from mine anyway.

There are a lot fewer programmes at the moment in FreeOD than were on Taste C1. Also some programmes on C1 that are not listed on FreeOD allow me to watch them and some do not (e.g. I can watch My Family but not Magnum PI). I think it would be clearer if they did not show the Big Pack only on demand content for Base Pack users, as it's getting really complex. The idea that C1 would become part of the Base Pack was suggested by a channel listing on the Tiscali website which was only a trial page I think.

Didn't Taste C1 just let you look at first episode of some series? (Not sure as I've always had the Big Pack or equivalent before).

Intriguingly the logo when the box starts up is now a huge Tiscali logo with bright green blob, and underneath it says "with homechoice".

TV guide looks less elegant than before but is slightly more functional in terms of use of space etc. I've noticed the help channel is now purely TV settings, no "help squad".

I'm really liking some of the 4od content (stuff on there I haven't seen in years like the Adam and Joe Show, Smack the Pony and Queer As Folk) but it does seem silly having the catch up programmes separate from the replay list on Channel 4.

Think I might upgrade to 8Mb now that it's only £3 extra.

I was thinking the same - especially since they've just reduced my monthly subscription by £3...

Ditto seems a good deal to me. Anyone taken the plunge yet?

I posted on another thread but I also think the picture and sound have improved (watching Sky the pictures look far less compressed and more natural, there is also a lack of picture glitches which I had at times previously. It is now approaching freeviews best quality). The sound is definatly louder too. I was very sceptical when we switched on March 1 to Tiscali as they have a bad press but so far, fingers crossed, everything seems better.

Also the call centre seems to be open on Sundays again according to the Tiscali TV website.

So I'm not the only one who noticed that. Didn't want to say anything incase I was imagining things. Also, the new epg seems faster (although that could be because I rebooted the box for the update which hadn't been rebooted for a few months)

Not for long - I've just been on the phone to them today and from later in the year they're moving to Monday - Saturday only.

I wanted to find out why what looked like March's bill was still £27.99 when the letter I received stated £17.99. Turns out my billing starts on the 28th so my March bill is actually received just after March so I loose out on a month of £10 discount and my monthly bill doesn't mean much as it arrives to tell me what I can get in February in March!

When I asked what options for upgrading were available I was asked to call Tiscali's 0800 sales line only to be told that Tiscali TV isnt available in my area - the systems obviously aren't fully integrated yet.

Calling HC back it seems that it's as follows, either of

2Mb Base Pack £14.99
>8Mb Base Pack £17.99

Then

Big Pack TV Upgrade £10

Evening and weekend calls £0
Anytime calls £5
Line rental £10

V:MX Music TV Pack £6
Kids TV Pack £6

Ditto - I was hoping to find out some details about the inclusive line rental, but apparently I can't receive the service at all

Very bizarely I looked at the Man U Liverpool game today but was less impressed with the picture (ie the jerkiness in the background was back). I have no idea why i noticed this then but not earlier
