"The full las vegas style production featuring LEE ‘MEMPHIS’ KING, his orchestra/band and singers.

"‘This show leaves the audience in no doubt they are witnessing the
world’s No 1 Elvis show’ PURE ENTERTAINMENT! PURE ELVIS!"

Its on at Grand Opera House on Sat 26th May but other dates - mainly Sat nights from April to June. See link to ticketmaster...

Elvis may not have been a prolific songwriter, but once he sang certain songs they were Elvis songs forever - as with Hound Dog and Blue Suede Shoes. I still think he was an absolute original - no one like him had appeared before - no one could match his charisma in the early days. He's up there with The Beatles and Dylan; the handful of artists that brought about enormous changes in music,

For anyone who wants to get into Elvis:

The Sun Sessions, his first post-Sun album and his 68 Comeback show and album are musts.

Also Elvis from Memphis(69- a brilliant album) and his early Vegas shows (70-72)

Id also recommend his work just before the 68 comeback where he did classic cover versions of Big Boss Man(Jimmy Reed), High Heel Sneakers(Tommy Tucker) and also classics like US Male and Guitar Man......those songs around 67-early 68 showed that he was starting to flex his music muscles again.....

Very good recommendations there

Does anyone know if EPE have any plans to release a LEGAL version of Elvis in Concert from 1977?

I know they have always refused to because he is very overweight in it and they don't want him remembered this way, but his voice was still VERY strong i'm sure his fans would love to see this released.

After the success of the 68 Comeback and Aloha from Hawaii dvd's you'd think that it would be a perfect time to give this concert the same treatment.

I know that there are copies you can buy off ebay and so on, but i'd much rather keep my collection first class with a proper release from EPE themselves.

It would be great to see a release with extra footage, perhaps a recollection interview section with the band and fans etc.
