Always had a soft spot for Mel, from Light Lunch, through to appearances on stuff like the Games, Ive always thought she came across as natural funny and sweet.

Some may have missed her performance as it coincided with Dancing on Ice starting, so maybe that will cost her potential votes...but she rocks!

I am the same as you. Always liked her from Light Lunch, She is a sweetheart.

I got some free tickets to see Mel and Sue at the Newbury Corn Exchange last year........the show was so bad we left at the first interval amidst some dirty looks from some dangerous looking women.......

Pity 'cos I've heard some of Sue Perkins stuff on radio 2 and she can be quite funny.......liked her remark about being able to hang a wet donkey jacket off of her having heard Mel's falsetto..........

Probably the best performance of the night even if Shaun and Tricia's voices are better. She will be a hot fav soon

Sorry i find her (and her daft unpronouncable name intensly annoying) She drove me up the wall with her chonic attention seeking antics on the Richard Hammond show.

Most importantly she can sing better than the rest. More interpretation, more ambitious with her range and more power. There are a couple of more professional voices but they sound very singing by numbers by comparison.

She could do well because although the average standard might be a bit higher there is no one else so far who can interpret or act a song as well as the last6 in the last CFA.

Loving Mel..she's got an equal mix of the singing voice and the comedy...would like her to win so far...or Barry from Eastenders lol

I like her too. She came over very well in The Games. She is (so far, at least) the only contestant who combines singing ability with comedic ability.

Oh, I would hate to have a daft unpronounceable name, wouldn't you, kobiashimarux?

I forgot she was on The Games. I was trying to remember what other reality show I had seen her on. I liked her on that too.

I thought she was good and I want her in the Academy.

I am a great fan of Mel's despite a longstanding eerie morphing phenomenon with Sue Perkins but then they have been very close friends for years.
She may not have the best voice but I admire her for not taking the experience too seriously (unlike poor dull Shaun Williamson better known as Barry from Eastenders)
I'd like to see her win but I hope that Tara calms herself down for long enough to have a fair crack (no pun intended) at the whip!

Some people on here will tell you its a singing talent contest but being for Comic RELIEF, its meant to be a fun show and serious singers aren't really what we want, are they?

I cannot imagine too many people picking up the phone because they were entertained by the likes of Tricia or Barry (Shaun) wheras comic performances (that are nevertheless sung reasonably) are more likely to attract the much needed phone and text votes. I expect the judges to reward people like Tim, Tara, Zoe, Linda and above all Mel for their humorous interpretations.

Go for it Mel, loving your work so far.

You are right, its for charity so they can have fun with the songs.

agreed.

(apart from the bit about linda being funny. can we include anjellica instead?)

'barry from eastenders' takes himself far too seriously. after he'd sung he appeared to have a superior look on his face when observing the ones after him.

and tricia was just a usual 'soap girl does singing competition'

Of course you can!

Funny that the people who can afford to relax and have fun (Tricia/Shaun), due to their obvious singing abilties, are the ones who failed to smile.

Mel has a good enough voice and with a fun packed Ruby Wax performance, really looked like she was enjoying the occasion.

I hate her. She comes across as an arrogant prick. And her sidekick Sue is an even bigger prat.
