I liked her idea that, since she usually feels like a mouse (timid) just before she goes out to sing, this time she'll feel like a rat. ![]() Also that when Carrie wanted her to imagine she was wearing Halle Berry's Catwoman suit, Tara thought ... PVC, sweat. (Carrie: please let go of sweat.)

I'm really surprised at the effect she's had on me - I used to think she was a waste of space and needed to grow up! I was impressed with her inner strength when she was in the jungle, and I'm seeing it again here.
Her vulnerability is undoubtedly what the viewers can connect with, and although sometimes I feel I need to hide behind the cushions when she's on, I'm still drawn to her

It's also a good choice because, unlike most of the true swing songs, it has currency, even among younger people, owing to the relatively recent Jessica Simpson version.
... The teachers were just talking about Tara on the live feed. Kevin: It has to be sexy: a woman, not a girl trying to be a woman. David: My only question with Tara tonight is that I've yet to be convinced she can maintain a mood for a whole song; and if she slips out of being sexy and being like wacky, fun Tara it's gonna completely destroy it. Kevin: That's what makes the difference between a good, sexual performance and something that's almost comedy. Carrie: She only needs to focus on being a woman for 90 seconds. I'm sure she can manage that. David: I'm glad you're sure. (laughter) ... Later, Carrie said Tara was self-conscious about being the "woman person" in front of more than one person probably. (This all appears to be something they're recording. They even redo some lines. David got part way through his "yet to be convinced" comment then said "sorry" and started it again. Carrie revised her "self-conscious" comment to be about doing it for one person vs in front of the whole nation.) Last edited by Veri : 11-03-2007 at 13:48. |

Tara just had me crying with laughter when they were rehearsing the group song.....she's very funny without trying.

Don't like the sound of the group song. Tara looks either tired or bored to tears - I think she is much better off singing individually. Hopefully, this doesn't prove an unwelcome distraction as I suspect concentration is not her greatest asset.
Has anyone seen a rehearsal for 'These Boots'? |

I think they were all getting tired of Tricia's moaning about how she'll never manage to do it. Tara with her 'positive thinking' was spot on.

Fingers crossed she doesn't have such a disadvantage with the song tonight but you cannot take anything for granted if she ended up in the bottom three - I am not sure if she could rely on any of the judges or students.

It won't be understandable if she doesn't get through, but, hey, I'm not bothering to vote so can't complain, really.

I love watching Tara - she's always on the edge, isn't she? I remember her co-presenting I'm a celeb extra with Mark Durden-Smith - he could barely cope with her scattiness and unpredictability!
I've found her performances the most entertaining by far in this competition. Go Tara!

Her vocal was stronger on the live feed earlier but judges seem to enjoy it.

I reckon she shouted the vocal a little ('Jolene' and 'Another Suitcase' were better and more her type of song) but her performance was great. Still need to vote though as several of them will get sympathy votes.

I agree her vocal could have been better tonight, but it was still a brilliant performance again.

I like Tara but think it's sad that she's completely destroyed her face with cocaine. She seems more messed up than she did on IACGMOOH.
I hate to say it, but I think Tara is only popular because people pity her. |

Loved Tara tonight but I'm hoping she has something a bit softer and more in the vein of "Another Suitcase" for tomorrow. That's where she really shines.

Tara's just gone favourite with the only bookmaker (Bet365) to update after tonight's show - not bad after starting the outsider of them all.
