Ob - Leaving?
It says on Hollyoaks World that Darren Jeffries is leaving HOllyoaks but a new actor is coming in.....that's crazy! OB is a long standing character, it was alright when they changed claire!?

Yeah I heard that OB is taking a few months off to spend time with his daughter, and they'll replace him while he's off.
Can't see it working myself. |

Whats the point in that, unless he's leaving in the middle of a storyline involving his character?

Hasn't he been on about 10 years
Surely you can't re cast a major character after all that time. Just as Hollyoaks is improving they go and do something like this to lose any credability they gained.I hope its not true |

Right, Lets clear this up.
In an interview Darren Jeffries did recently, he said he would leave 'when the time was right' to spend time with his daughter. He didn't say he was quitting yet, or that he was getting replaced. This has come from someone editing Wikipedia. Its stupid. |

OB can't leave now not now he's made amends with Max
If Darren Jeffries were to leave, then I would rather the character left for good as he is brilliant as OB and any other actor would just feel wrong. When they recast Clare it was different, Sam Roley was only there for a few months, Darren's been there 10 years. |

Plus Sam Roley was one of the worst actresse's to walk the planet.
Gemma Bissix really does the character of Clare justice. |

These rumours have been going around for ages. Since summer 2006... I don't think they're true.

hes sexy ![]() From what I remember, Caroline Gilmer was seriously ill, so they got a replacement actress to play her role. It was easier to do that than rewrite the scripts at next to no notice, especially if the character is engaged in a major storyline! Janet Andrewartha (Lyn Scully) once described soaps as 'pressure cooker tv' as in the case of Neighbours, they have to churn out about 120 minutes of telly in 5 days, included in that time is rehearsals and location shooting away from the studio. I know it might seem silly temporarily recasting, but think of it from a production point of view. |

and when sara first saw her she was like "meg! u look different!!" good old sb Actors in soaps have lives outside work just like us. Lets say an Emmerdale actor wanted time off to see a sick relative abroad but were in the middle of a big storyline. The producer could not say "no, I'm sorry you cant go, and we cannot replace you as it might confuse the viewers" Sam Roley was much more attractive but a bit out her depth. I dont like the character or Gemma Bissex since she took over. |

I thought OB's replacement is a temporary thing.
