they only change they have made is its starting time on sat 00:00, it has always been 60 min calls and you need to remake the call...

No... its a total of 1 hour to other networks... not 1 hour then hang up...

It's one reason I was staying with Vodafone. I can perhaps understand the calls, but other networks class weekend as Friday night, and so it should be for texts. It was handy for Friday nights when out and about.

Vodafone, typical.

The minute anyone finds one of their offers useful they go and change the terms and conditions. Everyone uses their mobile on a friday evening and what happens - they make sure it aint free!

And then they limit xnetwork calls to 1 hour every weekend. Absolute nonsense!

Terrible behaviour on Vodafones' behalf. I wonder how they're going to make Vodafone Family less atrractive now...

How awful. If they mess with the family deal I know a lot of people who won't be happy. It's the last thing keeping us hanging on to them.

At first when I heard the Vodafone free weekends deal I though it was superb. To think I could top up only £5 per week and talk and text all weekend for free was unthinkable.

I had to double check the terms and conditions to be sure and I was right, unlimited text messages and unlimited minutes to any network ALL weekend for only £5.

I had to join Vodafone to be part of this deal but since the terms and conditions will be changing I will be ditching their sim card very soon.

I re-entered into another 12 month contract with Vodafone last July, I was told as part of my 1000 texts I would be able to send picture messages as part of that text allowance. In September, they scrapped it and picture messages were no longer included.

Vodafone are without doubt the worst network in the UK now, so many friends who have been loyal to the network over the years have now changed to other networks.

T - Mobile are a decent network to go onto for contract as well as PAYG Payg is 12ppm to all networks not sure about texts, although guessing 10per text.

As for vodafone, I used to work in one of the call centres, and I would have to agree A) customer services is very porr, not sure how it is now, but i knew a lot of people who would cut clients off and B) they put these great offers on but change the T&C to catch people out to make more money - thats all it is. they have to keep the shareholders happy and customers can go and swivel (a bit like TUTV!, Virgin, sky et al )

to be honest ive never had a problem with any network that i have been with unless i have to call customer services. i just dont like calling into call centres.

regarding picture messaging with vodafone its just something that other networks have already done and vodafone have followed suit. and the changes to fwc and fwt is only a few hours difference, i would believe as when it used to hit 8pm on a friday the network ground to a halt due to traffic on the network and i would also imagine that people abused the service also.

As a user of the service myself while also working for Vodafone we've been provided with a little more information on the change.

Extending the qualifying period to midnight will mean that more customers will be able take advantage of the proposition, as they've got more time to spend the £5.00 required credit.

In terms of introducing a 60 minute cap on the cross network calls at weekends, this will mean that Vodafone are able to keep the promotion although for more customers and for a longer period of time.

Although it does limit the amount of calls that can be made, call pattern research showed that it wouldn't effect 80% of the customers using Free Weekends.

The calls to landlines and Vodafone mobiles still remain unlimited and if you've got Stop The Clock on your phone, after your 60 minutes of cross network minutes have been used, Stop The Clock will kick in as normal. In addition, text message to all networks remain unlimited.

As I'm using Stop The Clock on my number there hasn't been any real impact on my own calls.
