Such as songs used in adverts

I know a lot of songs have bought back some oldies to life and it worked but some have been spoilt by adverts

I used to like

Things Can Only Get Better by D:Ream before Labour Hijacked it

You either love it or hate it. Either way, Slade's Merry Xmas Everybody is part of Christmas - but Tony Christie MURDERED it!

What was he thinking - he almost killed my favourite Christimas tune forever!!

Agree about D:Ream as well - I can't even listen to that song anymore without thinking of Blair grinning smugly

The 'I'm Loving it' hook on McD makes me irritated but didn't like the original

American Pie was and is a classic - and should have been left alone by Madonna!

I really annoys me when I hear that dreadful Red Hot Chilli Peppers knock off of the All Saints classic "Under The Bridge"...

Everybody Hurts - REM, overplayed. Can't listen to it anymore. Oh, and Don't Speak- No Doubt, same reason.

All of Nirvana's catalogue of tracks. Kinda my fault as that's all I listened to everyday for about a year and a half and it drove me mental understandably lol. Stupid teenage phase. Also I concur with the All Saints knock off of Under The Bridge. I can't listen to the original anymore without thinking about that awful cover.

This song always reminds me of the aftermath of Lady Diana's death. The whole week between her death and her funeral this song was constantly on. Whenever I hear it now I think back to that time.

I used to really like "Bohemian Like You" by the Dandy Warhols before it was used in a mobile phone ad.

Better to listen to GNR’s original than the appallingly awful Sheryl Crowe version of Sweet Child O’ Mine!

The Stranglers’, “Golden Brown”. Not that I could ever tire of the song, but since Jamelia’s got her grubby little mits on it and has sampled the opening of Golden Brown on her latest single, it’s not a song I can listen to anymore.

Without You by Nilsson. One of my favourite songs ever. Till that ugly troll Mariah Carey got her mangled vocal cords round it and totally destroyed any warmth or feeling in the song. ughh. Sorry she should have been shot for that song.

Oh come on, they deserved it after numerous butchered offerings they have served up. "Knocking On Heaven's Door" (Dylan), "New Rose" (The Damned), "Raw Power" (The Stooges)....you get the idea.

'Drive' by The Cars, used on the first either 'Comic Relief or Live Aid' cash grab, loads of self righteous Multi-Millionaire celebs pleading for my hard earned cash to buy guns and tanks for despotic regimes around the world; no thank you

'Basket Case' by Green Day.
After watching Avril Lavigne slaughtering it on one of her live shows (on youtube ) I can barely listen to it anymore!

Mark Ronson is doing a bloody good job of trying to spoil Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before at the moment.

It's f***ing horrible.
