Reformed pop group All Saints have been dropped by record label Parlophone following disappointing sales.

The foursome launched their comeback last November, five years after they split amid reports of in-fighting.

But they failed to match the success of their 1990s hits Pure Shores and Never Ever, and new album Studio One entered the UK charts at number 40.

No surprise there, though why did they bother?

First time round, they were good and had some really strong and memorable songs. Second time round, it was verging on embarassing. Perhaps they should have left it, and not have their memory tarnished by this crappy comeback.

I really liked the first single. The second was pretty rubbish but they shouldn't be dropped for that!! Idiot label people - they should have been given more of a chance. Of course Take That will have done well - an audience with, etc - all that hype. They didn't exactly make All Saints reforming in to such a big deal.

I'm pretty annoyed now.

I don't think Parlophone helped, the project seemed so rushed. They should have waited with the album at least until a second single was released.

Shame, there was some good songs on Studio 1. And they do have talent... Rock Steady was one of the best tracks of 2006 IMO.

I liked All Saints, particularly Shaznay & Melanie.

The Appleton sisters always seemed rather up themselves to me, I didn't really warm to them at all.

I think it's a shame they got dropped, their new material wasn't that bad, I've heard a lot worse, perhaps their audience just wasn't there anymore, or they'd just left it too long or something.

Who knows . . . . . . .. . . . . ..

Good luck to Shaz & Melons in the future. . . .

Well that was short-lived. Can't say I'm too bothered. They did their best stuff years ago.

They didn't get dropped because the 2nd single was rubbish, they got dropped because the album sold sweet FA. At least Take That tested the water first by releasing the greatest hits firstly, that sold well, then they did the tour, that did really well, then they released the album and also did an audience with. They took it one step at a time.

All Saints just waltzed straight back in the front door again and expected just to pick up where they left off! I'm sorry but who do they think they are. They had loyal fans that they just abandoned when they split up over their pathetic bitching and fighting over coats etc. These fans have now moved on to other artists/bands.

Serves you right All Saints. The sheer arrogance of this comeback was astonishing.

I actually prefered the new stuff to the old stuff. I hated them in the 90's but really like this new sound.

The album only got to 40 because no-one knew it was out. Not enough promotion. But that's down to the label.

Did they expect the fans to come rushing back after their very public slagging off sessions? One minute, they hate each other and the the next, they're all pally just because they're hungry! It doesn't always work like that!

All Saints didn't really get a lot of hype though did they?

I mean I didn't even know that they did a second single. If the PR was any good then by all rights I should have seen it and heard it everywhere even if I didn't like it.
There's plenty of records that get hype even if they're pretty rubbish so why wasn't the hype machine put in motion for All Saints?

I heard sod all about them so I'd be completely unaware of what records they were selling.

Rock Steady was good, but the second single wasn't that great, IMO.

I blame it on promotion. I didn't even know they were coming back and lots of other people didn't either. I think a well-publicised comeback would have helped them much better. I don't buy that the audience wasn't there anymore.

Shame really because they were very good in the 90s.

Rock steady was good, and it got a fair amount of airplay, plus they turned up on shows like Jonathan Ross. They got alot more publicity than most acts would, but the album still only made number 40.

The second single was a disaster for two reasons. Firstly, the single was dire. Secondly, the All Saints project already seemed doomed, there was no interest from the public or the media.
