Hi there

I have a phone on a vodaphone contract. Unfortunately I was silly and did not take out insurance. Within a month or so I had water damage to it and it has been deemed unrepairable.
I am going to have to buy a new one, My question is can I just buy a payg vodofone phone. The man at vodafone customer services told me it wouldn't work with the sim from a contract phone. Is this correct?

No, that's nonsense. You can use a PAYT SIM with a contract phone and vice-versa.

You can put your sim card in any phone as long as it will accept the network.

The only thing you have to be aware of if it's a 3g sim then you need a 3g phone.

you can use a contract sim in a payt phone, if not then you can get a free code to unlock it to do so from the network.

and also you dont need a specific phone if you have 3g activated on your account either.
