Incompatible Product preventing switch to Sky Talk

Hello there

I wonder if any experts out there can shed any light?

I am currently with BT for my line rental (BT Together Option 1). The only additional 'product' I have with BT is caller display.

I am with Toucan for my calls (evenings and weekends to landlines for £3.75 per month). I am also with Toucan for my Broadband (£15 per month).

I am coming to the end of my contract on 31st March and have phoned to cancel and take up Sky Talk and Sky Broadband instead. For comparable products I am paying nothing for the calls and £5 per month for Sky broadband.

On Saturday just gone (3rd March), I had to chase Toucan for my MAC code, but I got it and passed it to Sky. I received a letter today from Sky dated 1st March saying that there was an incompatible product on my BT line and to get in touch with BT to remove it. I contacted BT but they say there is no products on my line and confirm that I am on BT Together Option 1.

I have got back to Sky and have informed them of this and they have told me that they will 're-prospect' BT.

Do you think this happened because Sky did not have the MAC code when they approached BT and the fact that I was still in a contract to Toucan has affected it i.e. was Toucan the incompatible product?

The headline in your title refers to SKY TALK yet in your post you are talking about broadband. Is it sky talk you have the issue with or broadband? If its broadband then your thread is in the wrong forum. you should get sky to contact BT wholesale's "tags on line"team to find out what the issue is.

Hi. It's the Sky Talk I have the problem with. Just threw in the broadband bit for background although it looks like I have clouded the issue.

Like I say, just a problem with Sky Talk. Thanks for the advice. If the second go at 're-prospecting' the line is not successful I will try this 'tags on the line' time your refer to.

You don't happen to have a direct number that you can get through to BT wholesale direct on by any chance. I find the rigmarole of the BT call centre very frustrating. They seem to want to keep you away from the Wholesale team at all costs!

I had this exact problem 2 weeks ago. Your Toucan Talk package probably doest run out yet but after which time you will go back to the BTTogether option then Sky can switch you. Just call BT and ask them from what date you will be put back on Together Option 1 then phone Sky on that day. Toucan will have advised BT they are removing their call package.
