It'll get delivered and they'll be charged £1.23 or something like that.

My last workplace didn't put a stamp on my p45 so I had to pay to get it, ba$tards.

£115....they used to charge £250 until last year!

I decided to call them, they couldn't find my account "Your account number starts with UI ... " No it doesn't, I'm reading it off the letter you sent me yesterday.

So I now need to write to them. I've asked them to send me a fiver to cover my costs.

Old homechoice customer accounts start with a "00.." - Tiscali customer accounts start with a "UI..."

Well I've unsurprisingly just recieved a letter from Tiscali's debt chaser's threatening legal action if i do not pay £115 for the box they can't be bothered to pick up!!

Not sure how they expect to succeed in any legal proceedings given that they have agreed to pick up the box on two occassions but have failed to attend. Can imagine that will go down well with the Court.

Obviously could do without all this hassle and on that basis would advise anyone thinking of signing up with tiscali to think again!

Received the same letter today. Phoned them up yet again. Maybe, just maybe, they've got the message that they've picked up the box. Just to make sure, I have sent another letter with the comment "You've picked up the box you *****".

They really are a bunch of muppets. Despite having called numerous times and having written to them they are still making threats.

I'd be quite interested in going to court, but I *don't* want any black marks against my credit rating.

From what I gather, they don't pass any credit files over to anyone so you won't get a black mark.

Seems they don't offer box collection anymore...
I just cancelled as I'm moving and can get cable at the new place.
Called them up and as I'm still within my 12 month contract I was expecting to be hit with a hefty cancellation charge, but they're just going to bill me upto the end of the month (30 days notice) and that's it, no penalty charge.
They also told me to post the box back to the address on my bill with my account details and receipt for postage costs which they will refund me. No offer of collection.

Whether they do refund the postage or not is another matter, but I'm not bothered either way as I'll just dump it in the post room at work

Think I did quite well! - They collected the box & waived the early cancellation fee, so I only ended up paying £1.87 to cover the last day or two I had the box over the contract, instead of an extra £17.99 they could've charged

No issues for me so far, got my cancellation confirmation last week, it was in an envelope that said "Welcome to tiscali" on it, but that's all that's gone wrong.

Well, I received in the last week , a letter from Homechoice confirming I owe them nothing. Then a letter from their debt collection agency warning me of a CCJ.

I phoned the debt collection agency and am posting them the copy of the bill, I also told them that their client is a complete f**king muppet and I'd lose them as they couldn't organise a p*ss up in a brewery.

Blazer you buffoon
Now that you have posted this notice they are going to advise the engineer not to sign anything, other than what they are required too.
Anyone with half a brain would know not to let anyone into what they are doing until they have done it. you dont say to the police what bank you are going to rob before you have robbed it.
Then again perhaps you would and go dressed as a clown

I was supposed to have had my homechoice box collected on the 7th may, however the guy never showed up. I didn;t call to find out why as it turned out better for me in the end as my broadband failed to migrate around that data and so therefore i still could use Homechoice/Tiscali's broadband. I will be switching next week after a few issues with transferring to Sky, and then will have no need for the box.

Today i received the demand for the £115 for the STB, but what i find slightly amusing is that they are (quite rightly) still charging me for the use of their services (therefore indicating that i am still a customer) but are also billing me for not having given the box back.

I will give them a ring/or write and say that there is no way i'm paying the charge and as someone is at home most days, they can come and pick it up when they wish.

Is there any better ways to deal with this. I realise that by me not calling them, i have not indicated that the guy didn't turn up, but moving on from now, is what i have suggested above, the best method to move on.

Tiscali have finally seen sense and decided that:
They won't charge me £115 for not picking up their box.
Only 6 months of hassle and even then they tried to get me to return the box by post (Muppets)

only problem now is what do i do with this old HC box?

I wouldn't all be too cocky ... I have a letter from Ticali saying I owe nothing, I forwarded this to the credit company they use (Experto Credite) (So, yes, they do pass the details on).

Today I received a letter from the credit company saying they will be sending bailiffs next week. AAGGGHHHHHHH!!!

I've done so much to sort this out ... it's cost me plenty in phonecalls and time. So I ask HC/Tis "Is there any gift you would like to offer me as an apology?" Nope, nothing.

W*****rs. Keep well clear and I hope they go out of business.

There is a differnece between using an company to chase debt on their behalf and submitting a bad debt file to a credit reference agency i.e. Experian or Equifax....
