Deano's Choice
I think he made the right choice. No-one should ever make someone choose between two people they care about. Carly is behaving like a spoilt brat and I don't like her any more.
I like the way Mo has been turned into a less than loveable villain just prior to her being busted. That "Sue me" remark after she was rumbled letting underage kids have cigarettes was just the job to take the "loveable" out of "loveable rogue" wasn't it? I would actually feel quite sorry for Dawn, if she hadn't been using a child's life as a bargaining too, to get what she wants. I have no idea how this storyline can pan out, but I hope Dawn gets properly dumped on like she deserves and the doc and her old man get the kid. The I hope Doc gets rid of the baggage because he's a waste of space, only really any use as a sperm donor. ![]() (and don't waste your breath saying "why don't you paste this on the main thread?". I flatly refuse to post on a thread that some inconsiderate attention-seeker has put a spoiler in the title of before the show's even started )

lol im so glad you put the last bit in!
I was just about to... but gotta mention it. inconsiderate attention seeker. Please. Thats not fair at all. I dont remember who started tonights thread. But i doubt its for attention. Its done for people to have one place to discuss the episode together. Can you imagine twenty odd threads of every scene in eastenders, corrie, emmerdale etc...awful. I think its very nice someone makes the effort to create the thread each night-fair enough most nights the spoilers arent covered but some are. And the titles are usually very clever-the emmerdaily titles are genius at present and reveal very little! |

Yes I agree, he should've picked Carly, at least she actually gives a shit about him and loves him. She has been more of a mother to him than miss drunk a lot.

Shirley isn't a mother she's an egg donor. There is nothing remotely motherly about Shirley...she didn't want her kids when they were little but now they are old enough to party with her she's interested.
If Shirley was a decent human being tho she wouldn't encourage Deano to become estranged from his sister...that's not in Deano's best interest it's in Shirleys. Carly is disgusted at what her mother is and I don't blame her, who could honestly say they would want to be landed with a mother like that?? Fantastic actress but the character knocks me sick....how someone behave like that to their own kids is beyond me. |

Good choice, Deano- Carly's whiny voice is enough to drive anybody over the edge.

What has been interesting here is seeing the way in which two seperate characters have interpreted their mothers return.
Most people do actually take the approach of Carly when a parent swans back to reclaim them in adult hood but Deano is showing the vulnerable side and the abandonment he suffered all through his childhood. He is displaying his need to be wanted by his Mum - which is natural. He will come around. In real life, there is no right or wrong way to respond to the selfishness of such a parent and in this storyline, neither sibling can be blamed for their reactions. he made the wrong choice. His mother is just continually embarrassing him. He should of stuck with his sister who has been there for him all the years that his so called mother wasnt. I dont like shirley at all. Deano has tried with his mother but she just keeps failing him. Poor guy. Feel for him.

Poor Deano, what a choice, a mother who gets drunk and loses it or a sister who loses it without being drunk, instead of a father who shouts and yells whether he is drunk or sober. The poor lad, famiies!!

Deano is grown man and Carly should respect his choices to hang around his deadbeat mum.
