If, like me, you're currently having problems with your landline and it dropping the line many times then I thought i'd share with you the phonecall I had today with the LLU Upgrade department.
Apparently a lot of people at the call centre and at the Carphone Warehouse shops have been telling people that the problem was going to be resolved yesterday.
This isn't actually the case. I was told that the equipment was installed yesterday that should fix the problem. They said that it meant that it could be fixed at any time between now and 'whenever'.
Anyway, I said to the person on the end of the phone that i'd had enough and I was prepared to dump the service and go back to BT since this has been ongoing for nearly 3 weeks now.
He told me that since it was a known network problem with TalkTalk that I could do that if I wanted to and I wouldn't be charged a disconnection fee, but if I was willing to be patient for a little while longer that he would actually credit my account with 20 quid - which will effectively waive the next phonebill completely.
So if you haven't already, then ring them up and tell them you're thinking of cancelling unless you receive adequate compensation for the inconvenience. They have apparently been 'authorised' to offer people no more than a 20 quid credit.
And yes, I know everyone hates TalkTalk but please resist the urge to remind us .. pretty please
