Firstly, I love Steve McDonald at the moment...he's becoming a comedy classic.

Second, sorry but Vernon has grown on me!!!

Third, Leanne is a brilliant charactrer as she is....please don't let her change back into a gold digging cow - she has her own cash now which makes her better - and her hooking up with Liam is so wrong. It's been done before, just a repeat of the Danny rubbish - boring!

I second that. He's fantastic.

I love the way that the scripts acknowledge his receding hairline and expanding waistline. Simon Gregson plays the part so perfectly.

Demon and Toxic made the episode as usual, though I couldnt help cringing when he slapped her bum!

Michelle and Sonny  Sonny is such a slimy *******

Liked Joanne, Kelly, Leanne and Adam in the pub

I don't think she has been 'praised beyond belief' more than any other actress in these threads.
I think people are saying how much they enjoy her character/acting mainly because they are surprised, an relieved, that an ex-singer can actually act.
When it was announced that she would be joining Corrie there were numerous posts about how bad she would be.
The first time she appeared she was slated by many even though she spoke maybe one or two lines.
So maybe poeple feel that they should 'balance' it all out
Leanne also doesn't get 'pulled apart' on these threads.
Sure there are those that don't like her (and some that even call her names  ) but she is generally liked.

As for last nights episode:
Either Tracy has forgotten about the camera, or thinks it will now be switched off as Charleh wouldn't be getting his jollies stalking Maria.
And isn't the yard and flat off the main drag, so she wouldn't be seen keeping Demon's 'interest' up.
Jason isn't the brightest tool in the toolchest.
Loved the expression on his face at the end..
'Did I just see what I thought I saw?' 'Somethings not quite right, but... erm... not sure what..' 'Me head hurts!'
Hopefully Sarah can help him with his figurin'

Next week has a good episode by the sound of it. Toxic tells her she's only being nice to Demon because he's traumatised about having to testify - he's a little boy who needs a bit of motherly attention, is probably how she tries to make it sound!

But then Deirdre finds out from Gail that Demon is totally unbothered about having to testify ... she also finds out from Steve that Charlie was planning on chucking Toxic out of his house the day he was killed. And Toxic had said she wanted to leave but he wouldn't let her because "I am his" as she put it and that was why she killed him, in self defence. No wonder it makes Deirdre think! The neck muscles will be working overtime!

This apparently is to lead to a two hander between Toxic and Deirdre the night before Deirdre testifies, so clearly by then she knows Toxic is lying and we're all supposed to be gripped wondering if she tells the truth in court or lies.

Now they couldn't have had that for month if they'd let Demon and Toxic carry on unseen by anyone else! It's dragged on long enough as it is.”

Thanks for all this info, Flukie. Not sure I can cope with a two hander between Tox and Dreary. I might have to watch from behind a cushion.

Feel they are trying too hard to keep Tracy and David`s encounters "clean".
At the very least he would have taken his jacket off. The scene of him looking like a frightened rabbit and Tracy not even giving him a decent snog has been played out in so many locations that it is just boring now. Even a frightened rabbit would have got a bit of courage and made a positive move.
Charlie`s house is put up for sale, no one reacts. Nothing happens to the flat or the building business yet still no one reacts. Jason is as thick as two planks but Mother tigress Eileen is no fool, she would have been on to the estate agents to find out who had put the house on the market and who was inheriting Charlie`s estate. Jason`s future depends on it. If I had been one of the neighbours I`d have tried to find out!!
Why anyone would think Liam is a catch goodness knows. Look how he treated Joanne, sex in the factory, tell no one, when you do I drop you. What was all that about by the way? Couldn`t see the point to it unless Joanne is going to be pregnant.

Much as I fancy the actor I agree with you about the Liam/Joanne storyline. It did nothing and went nowhere. As you say unless she's preggers what was it all for?

a quiet day in the scriptwriting department, perhaps?

perhaps "Joanne's" looking for another acting role, and this is Corrie's way of raising her profile, either to get her noticed or to keep her happy

Fantastic if at long last Deirdre discovers Tracey has been lying all along. I'm sure that Ken has his doubts already.

yes, you can see the "I told you so" line coming a mile off, from Ken. As you say, he must have his doubts: after all, he didn't exactly rush to get his cheque book out to pay for Toxic's defence.

I hope they're getting some good lines for Blanche

The Toxic / David stuff was dull beyond belief. KF was chronic in the scene with Jason when she was pretending to be upset. That "act" wouldn't have convinced a 5 year old really. The best bit was when David slapped her bum but, in truth, this storyline has been treading water for some time now & only really moved forward in the sense that Jason now knows about David & Toxic. Having said that, Toxic knew about Charlie's camera & saw it on a number of occasions. We can only assume that the "stress" of putting on an act for both Jason & David has driven that particular fact from her mind.

Underworld stuff was nothing special either, although Wiki getting Kelly & Joanne to fix her machine was vaguely amusing. The Rovers scenes were slightly better with Leanne's drinking game & Joanne spitting out her drink. Adam's "certainty" was a bit stupid though. All he had to say was "I've never had a father who drives a taxi" or something similar if he wanted Leanne to down a shot.

The Michelle / Sean stuff was reasonable, although Steve had all the best stuff as he sat in the back room whilst Michelle told Liz about Sean & Sonny & later as he told Michelle that she didn't know about the previous relationship of his that had ended in disaster. Pity that we had to ruin the possibility of a Michelle / Steve relationship so soon with her coming out of the loo & catching Steve bragging to Lloyd.
Sean was obviously out to try & gain some sympathy & him taking the moral highground with Sonny was hypocritical to say the least. Antony Cotton didn't put in a terribly good performance again, &, if the production team are set on keeping him they should restrict him to comedy stuff from now on as he really lets the side down when he's called on to do the dramatic stuff.

Vermin amusing (not!) as usual.

5 and a half out of 10.”

Your posts are nasty, negative, pompous and spiteful. If Corrie has so many faults and has such terrible performances then don't watch it. You are always 'disappointed' or 'let down'. '5 out of 10'... '4 and a half out of 10'....'1 out of 10'.
Get a life you silly fool.

Saying "get a life you silly fool" is hardly constructive comment about the programme.

I think Anthony Cotton is bearable at comedy scenes, but consistently fails to convince at anything remotely dramatic.

I couldn't give two hoots how many awards he has won, that is my opinion of the actor.

Hmm, don't know about anyone else but I see your comment as being 'nasty, negative, pompous, spiteful' - in fact, everything that you accuse others of being. Hypocrite. Grow up.

Not every episode is perfect you know. And if you had been on Digital Spy for a while you would know Rita's Kabin has given some very positive reviews-just look across all of the Corrie threads!

I can understand Dierdre supporting her but I find it incredible that she actually believes her

Hey this is not a nice thing to say to someone. I don't agree with some of the things Rita's Kabin says (see our KF dispute)but if you had a reasoned debate with her you will realise she is a huge fan of the show. I had a lovely chat and found that although we could not agree on some things (and never will) we found some common ground and things we both enjoyed about the programme. If any FM writes any thing you disagree with then by all means say so and back it up with a reason. If you like Anthony Cotton tell everyone why you think the poster was wrong about him and why you think he is good. You must never start name calling because then you have lost straight away.

Thanks for your reply. Please understand me when I say my main reason for this is out of frustrastion. Kym is not a bad actress, just not a great one. When you look at the threads over the last 2 weeks you would think she's the best thing ever in Corrie and thats unfair to the other cast members. She has had many more possitive reviews than any other actress and the most points on the elimination game. I just don't understand some fans though. I read yesterday that Kate Ford has hired a bodyguard because she has been threated and verbally attacked by "fans" yet she gets attacked on these forums too. Leanne does get quite a few negative reviews and Becky, a fantastic character and actress, gets no possitive reviews at all. This then is not balanced. I don't mean to anger Kyms fan base but I can only think its her character that makes her so popular and knowing Corrie she will dominate the show for the next 12 months or so.

I understand some of your frustration, personally I'm still not sure about her as an actress, but am relieved (and somewhat surprised) that she isn't a bad one

i think we need to respect each others feeling on here, calling some one a fool and silly is just childish and i would say that the person saying that is just as childish for saying it, end of the day they are only soaps, let people have their own opinions on what they think, its up 2 each individual how they would rate a soap, you have the same right.
