I agree with you Naz. Calling someone a silly fool is wrong and 'more fool them'. However I do think we can question someones's opinion without disrespecting it as this is a forum where we can exchage views. It would all be rather boring if we all thought the same.

Well I thoroughly enjoyed last nights episode.

The Tracey/David was actually ok for a change.

The Michelle/Sean/Sonny was ok as well. Steve was on fine form.

The drinking game with Adam, Leanne, Joanne and Kelly was good. Joanne spitting her shot out was hilarious. If this really was unrehearsed then the 4 of them did a great job of continuing on with the scene naturally

Get a life you silly fool.”

I'm quite happy to accept people disagreeing with me, that's what debate is all about. However if you are going to make comments about me then please get your facts straight before you make highly inaccurate posts.

I feel that Corrie is going through a bit of an uneven patch at the moment & the marks that I have awarded for the episodes so far this year reflect that.

Upto & including Wednesday's episode there have been 49 episodes broadcast.

12 of those episodes have received a mark of 5 1/2 or 6 which are the marks I give to what I feel is an average episode.

21 episodes have received scores in excess of 6 so were above average in my opinion. The highest mark I've awarded so far this year is an 8, but, as I said that's because I feel that Corrie is going through a bit of a rough patch at the moment. Episodes last year were given 8 1/2's or 9's.

The remaining 16 episodes were given marks below 5 1/2 so I felt that they were below average.

Corrie is one of my favourite programmes but that doesn't make me blinds to its faults. No programme is at the top of it's game (10/10) all the time week in week out as some posters would have you believe. It impossible to do that. You will always have some episodes which are weaker than the others.

best thing i would do is ignore these comments made by people who are self obsessed with soaps that much that they forget its just forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion like they have expressed their feeling and concern to you, but calling someone silly and fool is not on, at times we all feel a soap could have been better and like to comment on how it could have been or rate it as good or bad, no big deal. i like people like your self whose honest about soaps.
so if people dont like it then as a member with my own opinion i suggest that they dont come on to these forums if they are going to rant and rave and call people silly and a fool over a soap,
hope that i havent offended anyone but just made my own personal comment
thank you

A very good post and I agree with what you've said. Coronation Street is not at its best right now and all you are doing is offering an opinion, which is what forums are for. You do not deserve to be called a silly fool.

Lol!!

Oh, the name calling doesn't bother me at all. Water off a duck's back & all of that.
It was the:-

Quote:
“You are always 'disappointed' or 'let down'. '5 out of 10'... '4 and a half out of 10'....'1 out of 10'.”

that really annoyed me as it's not true. Sometimes I do think I may be being a bit negative with my review but then I think "why should I make out that something's better than I think it was"?

yeah i really dont blame you, i agree that it could have been better myself, everyone has the right to comment thats what these forums are for, she/hes not just critising your comments but for those who agree with you saying that the soap deserved 5/10, 4/10,instead of giving it a 10/10 which it did not qualify for.
i just say carry on with rating it the way you feel best

No one should be called names, however people should come on here, offer their opinions and debate their opinions. You cannot have a good forum without debate and without having other people challenge your views. People will rant and rave if they feel passionate about something and, although I would not do that myself, I can't see anything wrong with that. Sometimes it will liven up a debate. The line is crossed, of course, when people become abusive with other members. As I said in my previous post, it is at that moment the name caller loses the arguement.

i totally agree with you, i have no problem with a debate, but calling a forum member names was not nice but very rude in my opinion, everyone has a right to comment, thats why we come on here to read people views and comments and vice versa, we got to learn to respect each others comments and if we cant do that best thing is just to keep quiet or not comment at all. i think that is FAIR

Hey Rita's Kabin,
I have enjoyed my dabates with you and felt you did'nt deserve to be called silly (maybe 'wrong' LOL). I have disagreed with you at time but always found chatting with you great fun and one day; one day I will get you to say something nice about KF. What were you saying about 'Hell and freezing'

Lol!!

Well, who knows.

I never liked Kym Marsh when she was in Hear'Say & I couldn't stand "Cry". When I found out she was going to be in Corrie I thought they'd made a big mistake but I've changed my mind about her & have said so in the reviews.
KF may yet put in a "stunning" performance before she leaves, but given the amount of time she's been there I think it's a bit unlikely.
Such a pity that they didn't get someone of Jane Danson's calibre to play that role then Tracy's storylines really would have grabbed my attention.

Really, you don't help yourself saying things like that. I hope you engage in good debate with Rita's Kabin as I did when I disgreed with her. You will, however, never win an argument starting off your post like that and it makes you look like you're desperate.

i ask because this person seems to have such an important view on what other people to earn their living.

That's almost what I've been saying. Personnal attacks on people are crossing the line (this includes name calling and being rude or disrespectful) but most other thing are ok. I always enjoy a lively debate. This is as much fun as the show its self (sometimes more). Rita's Kabin is fantastic even if I seem to disagree with her a lot. I always enjoy chatting with her. Others may be very static in their views and not wish to engage in a debate. All of thats ok. Anyway must go to sleep soon or I start waffling. Hopefully I haven't already

Why do you think that? This poster has been a member for much longer than you and I have. She deserves respect for that. Her views may seem negative but that in itself invites debate. You disagree with Rita's Kabin about Antony Cotton. I disagreed with her about Kate Ford for the same reasons However I tried to put my views in a constructive manor asking why she thought that. I think I did it the right way. Do it this way and get your point of view across. Do it by upsetting the poster, calling them names etc, (however mild it might be) will not help you and could lead to people insulting you as well. I see you are a big fan by your user name and thats great. I know it's upsetting when elements of the programme are put down but argue your case the right way and you will have fun on here and gain the respect of the other members. I hope it does'nt feel like I am having a go at you as that is not my intention. I hope to have many debates with you in the future

I could say I run a small newsagency with my friend Norris....

I do admin work (paid, I'm not rich enough to work for nothing) for a charity.

As for me having an important view my opinions are no more & no less important than anyone else's. They are perhaps, easier to agree or disagree with because they have a fair amount of detail.

Corrie is like anything else. It goes through periods when it's firing on all cylinders & it's great, it goes through times when it's a bit patchy (as I think it is now) & it goes through times when it's crap. You can't expect every single episode from nearly 47 years to be wonderful & rated 9 out of 10 or 10 out of 10.

And returning to a comment you made in your original post, the lowest mark I've given this year so far is 3 out of 10.

I think she (or someone of her ability) would really have got their teeth into the role. Part of the problem with Tracy (for me) is that I just can't get past KF's duff 'acting'. She just comes across as someone playing a part, so I can't work up any interest in Tracy's storylines at all. I feel the same about people like Dev but as he's not given so many big storylines he doesn't annoy me as much.

It's such a pity really as they have given Tracy so much to do since KF took over & with someone better playing the role she really could have made much more of an impact (with me at least!)
