I pre-ordered two copies of a cd that was released on Monday from HMV. One was for me and the other is for a friends birthday. For her copy I nominated her address as the delivery address.

Over the weekend I received the confirmation of despatch emails for both copies (I did two seperate orders as my copy was obviously being sent here). My copy turned up on Monday. Hers still hasn't arrived!

It happens. Items do get seperated in the post, I have ordered multiple items from companies before they don't all always turn up the same day.

I appreciate that,one copy coming here,the other going to Bristol,once one arrived I would have anticipated the other arriving a couple of days later. Hopefully she'll get it tomorrow.

Sometimes on pre-ordered items only one copy per person is allowed. But if email confirmations have been sent out for both of you that shouldn't be the case. I am pissed off with HMV actually. I ordred a DVD and it came in a shoddy piece of cardboard shaped into a box. It was all ripped and looked insecure. Their standards are slipping I think. It takes longer for things to be delievered too I think than what it was a few months ago.

i ordered e.l.o's "balance of power" reissue cd off the hmv site last monday,and it took till the following monday for it to arrive,and mine also came in a crappy bit of cardboard.

I have used them over a year or so, they do seem to change their packaging from time to time, its started off with good jiffy bags, then cardboard, then thin jiffy bags....and now i take it i am expecting thin card! I agree that things have been taking a little longer to arrive. I ordered some stuff at the weekend and it still hasn't arrived.

My friend got her copy today so everything's fine now.

HMV online are notorious for this. Great site but a little slow on sending the stuff out.

Well as I said I appreciate that things mailed together can get seperated in the post,the confirmation of despatch emails came together so I would imagine they were mailed at similar times. Copy going from Guernsey to Sutton takes three days whilst copy from Guernsey to Bristol takes six days.....
