What is it with Dance music video's and semi naked women?
Why is it that all video's for dance/club tracks these days consist of semi naked women prancing about?
It started with that video for that Eric Prydz video and all the woman in skimpy costumes doing aerobics. There is one thats always on The Hits etc at the moment with semi naked gymnasts. There was that Sunblock track which sampled the Baywatch theme and Im sure that was deliberate so they could have a video with women running around in red swimming costumes I can remember a few years ago there was a video where a large chested woman was lying in a field in her underwear and babies where parachuting onto her chest. There was also one with woman using power tools in skimpy clothes. |

Sex sells!
If someone flicking over sees semi-naked women, they might stop, listen to the track and like it. I think they're crap, but they seem to work. It's always one hit wonders, though. |

I think that basically the majority of the modern dance stuff is so boring and cliched that they hope that a semi naked woman in the video may help to hold people's attention for more than about 8 seconds.

Which, by the way, was before 'that' Eric Prydz video!
There has always been women wearing appeasing clothing in dance videos - it's just that the Eric Prydz took it a bit too far Sort of made it acceptable to show ass! |

It shows a complete and utter lack of any imagination.
As do most of the tracks. Recipe: Take old song from 80s or 90s. Remove the majority of the lyrics Use two of the lines from the chorus and mix badly with atrocious euro-crap disco beat Present as innovative new club sound Garnish with crappy video of women wearing very little Sell millions of albums to impressionable teenagers, most;y boys. Anyone heard that 'Cascada' TV ad? It's the biggest pile of recycled garbage ever. Everything sounds exactly the same...oh God, now the general naffness of dance music is making me sound like my mother....and don't get me started on RAP lyrics and videos... |

It's usually the worst songs that have a risque video to go with it, so that people are less likely to noticed how crap the music is!

That figures. I forgot the Benny Benassi one. That was just hideous. Fake breasted bimbos pretending to drill stuff. Oh, how I laughed...

I suppose you have forgotten the vid to "Let's get physical" Olivia Newton John in 1981? semi-naked women have been pleasing blokes for many years...

It's never going to stop, because this kind of thing sells. It's all part of the marketing.
