Mine -

BEST...
1. Michelle (brilliant - she will win 'best newcomer' at all the awards IMO)
2. Carla (potential to be the ultimate 'soap bitch')
3. Eileen (Love the dry sarcastic humour)
4. Steve (love the interaction with Eileen)
5. Becky (Great character, love watching her evolve)

WORST...
1. Sonny (vile, creepy, makes me feel sick)
2. Les (can't act)
3. Sarah Louise (spoilt brat)
4. Vernon (awful cringesome character)
5. Molly (pointless, underused character - would we notice if she went?)

BEST

Michelle Connor (fits right in and lights up the screen)
Rita Sullivan (for comedy value)
Becky Granger (for comedy value)
Molly Compton (underused, but I think has great potential)
Dierdre Barlow (has been great during the Tracyluv story)

WORST

Carla Connor (she bores me, hope she leaves with Paul)
Vernon (Liz could do so much better)
Sarah Platt (all her stories revolve around Jason)
TracyLuv (Good while it lasted, but time for her to go)
Kevin Webster (what does he do??)

BEST

1. Hayley- Hayley is my absolute fave, I love her to bits! Really good at comedy and drama and I really care aout her.
2. Roy- same as above, but he's my second fave!
3. Blanche- need I say more...
4. Gail- Helen Worth is an asset to the show and always puts in a great performance.
5. Becky- Katherine Kelly has really made that character her own, she is fab and loveable as Becky, but still intrigues me, what is she capable of?

WORST

1. Danny Baldwin- I know not technically current, but he's just on a break. Like his nicknames but that was it. Hogged too many stories, got sick of him. Was always unconvinced by the performances of Bradley, not a fan.
2. Adam Barlow- However many dirty dreams I have about Sam Robertson, he is hot!!! I cannot forgive him for his acting, and his stories, i.e - none!
3. Sarah- Annoys me a bit!
4. Les- Could do without him, never managed to care one bit about him.
5. Dev- Never should have got rid of Sunita, he isn't needed now, however much material he gives Harry Hill.

BEST...
1. Michelle Connor (fab, has settled in really well, love the relationship between her and Steve)
2. Steve McDonald (love the relationship between him and Michelle, his facial expressions are priceless lol!)
3. David Platt (the only decent thing about the Tracy storyline, his attempts to get it on with Tracy are hilarious!)
4. Lloyd Mullaney (works really well at the cab office with Steve and Eileen, love the interactions between the three of them)
5. Eileen Grimshaw (wonderful character, the salt of the earth!)

WORST...
1. Sonny Dhillon (awful little creep, makes my skin crawl)
2. Sean Tully (selfish and disloyal, I wouldn't want him as a friend!)
3. Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford is a terrible actress IMO so she lets the character down)
4. Carla Connor (she showed promise at the start but now she's just boring and pointless)
5. Les Battersby-Brown (all that shouting of his lines does my head in!)

BEST
1. David Platt (brilliant character and probably the one with the most depth)
2. Sophie Webster (absolutley hilarious one-liners)
3. Steve McDonnald (again, one liners and great expressions)
4. Liam Connor (quirky and fun)
5. Gail Platt (she's just Gail isnt she? Great.)

WORST
1. Ryan Connor (cant talk properly, I cant understand a word he says, horrible face and just generally cant stand him)
2. Sonny Dhillon (cant act, no chemistry with Sean, slimy and highly unlikable)
3. Cilla Battersby (every scene she does is the same)
4. Sean Tully (is fine with the one-liners, but drives me mad when he has storylines of his own, eg. finding his dad and this sonny one)
5. Becky Granger (used to love her, she's grown boring for the same reasons as Sean)

No offence to the OP, but why has this forum turned into a place with so many "Whos the best", "Whos the best Male", "Best Female" and endless variations of such for each soap

Its very tedious when trying to read the forum (or am I just being grumpy)

No you're not, I totally agree with you. These popularity threads are getting very tedious.
(and please, before anyone starts with the 'well don't read it if you don't like it' routine, I came in here to make my point!)

Ah , yes, Amy Barlow. I forgot about her when making my list. What a weird child she is. Never speaks, never moves, almost like a stuffed doll. Get rid of her and bring in someone with a little more life in them. If she were my kid I would be so worried by her behaviour.

Best
Eileen Grimshaw - A faultess character played by a brilliant, faultless actress who can do both drama and comedy brilliantly.

Rita Sullivan - The Queen of Corrie

Steve McDonald - Says the funniest things and pulls the most hilarious facial expressions. An absolute diamond of a character.

David Platt - Brilliant because nothing fazes or bothers him and love the way he isn't bothered by Tracy even though she's a killer. All I can say is I both look forward and dread what he's going to be like when he's older

Blanche Hunt - A toss up between her and Norris but had to go for Blanche for her one-liners. Blanche (and Norris) never fail to throw a bit of light on a terrible storyline.

Worst
Sarah Platt - See the "I Hate Sarah Platt" thread but was bearable tonight.

Kelly Crabtree - Irritating and pathetic played by an awful actress (good singer and nice enough woman though ) Time to go.

Joanne Jackson - Has absolutely nothing about her

Tracy Barlow - Would be a good character if it wasn't for the terrible actress Kate Ford, who only shows occasional moments of being good. Overused, overrated character and actress. Good riddance.

Liz McDonald - No purpose apart from mutton dressing as lamb. Beverley Callard plays herself. Time to go but keep Vernon
