Sean in Corrie (Antony Cotton) - Terrible Actor....
Hi, I just want to say that I think that Sean in Corrie is terrible at the moment. His acting is pathetic.
When Michelle slapped him he was virtually laughing. I was actually surprised at Michelle (in a good way), her acting was pretty good, but it was totally ruined by Antony Cottons performance. Am I the only one that thinks this? He is good at the comedy bits but when it came to a serious role he was really bad. |

I don't think he's the greatest actor but I thought he played the scene OK.

He has been shocking over the last few episodes. I'm hoping Kym Marsh is proving a few of critics wrong this week as she has been excellent. Antony Cotton cannot deliver a serious line to save his life. Lowering your head and speaking in a hushed voice does not automatically give you depth of emotion. Terrible actor.

Yeah - the mumbling is dreadful and do you notice the way he stands - arms hanging down all limp and pathetic-like? Hopeless actor IMHO.

Watching him hanging his head in a bid to potray some kinda emotion was laughable. I have never liked him and never will. The man just cant act.

He's good when he's playing all happy and friendly, but when he tries to do sad or scared scenes he's cringeworthy.

I think he is a good actor and after seeing the last few episodes I think it shows he can do comedy and serious stuff.
I really like his character too, I would never want him to get the axe! Anyway he is a popular character with a lot of people. |

It's usually nothing to do with jealousy. Likewise, if anyone on these forums comments on an actor's superb performance, it does not necessarily mean they fancy them or whatever. I agree that some comments can border on becoming nasty, but when it comes to some of these characters, it is possible to get a bit carried away. Welcome to the forum by the way

He is not one of the best actor in Corrie but out of all the actors in Corrie he is easily the best person to play Sean Tully.
To judge him properly I would need to see him play a straight character.

I love Jane Danson, her talent is beyond doubt, but in the scenes Kym Ryder had after finding about Sonny and Sean, she acted them very well..i never said she was a better actress than Jane Danson.

Leanne (Jane Danson) as an actress and character is head and shoulder above her but like others get pulled apart on these threads. I just don't understand. I thought she may remind people of Bet Lynch, however although she is praised what about Katherine Kelly (Becky Grainer)? People seem to confuse the characters with the performances. Katherine is one of the best actress' on the street but receives little or no praise for it. She has even been attacked for her role. At least Jane Danson (Leanne) is starting to be noticed. Carla will be the next one to be praised as a 'strong independant woman' yet she really is a bad actress. I can see Kym's character dominating the storylines with her family for a long time to come while real talent gets forgotton about. .
