Is she the reason why the show seems to be stuck in the sixties? She seems to be having the image of a 60's girl. If she leaves the show, Will the show survive or will they move on to the 70's?

I don't know what Tricia leaving has to do with the show moving. The whole premise of the show is the time period. What's the point of this question?????

It's been 1969 for years. It began in 1963 I think it was. It followed the years from then to 1969 then because there were no more 60's years, it's stayed in 1969. It'll be 1969 if it's still going in 20 years time, because it's a show set in the 60's. |

from the OP you get the impression Tricia holds the key to time. Could she be the next assistant for the Doctor brining Heartbeat into the 21st century? Sometimes Heartbeat reminds me of the movie The Village-its all a lie! 1969 for all those years-scary thought. Obviously a rift in space and time-could Tricia head to Cardiff to see Captain Jack? sorry if i have totally confused you. Im a dr who/torchwood freak as well!

It would be, I think that time should start to go by, it has been stuck in 1969 for for too long.

She did quit but changed her mind, they had to rewrite the entire current series!

Heartbeat will always stay in the 60's, there have even been in-jokes about it, such as tax discs on the cars expiring on 31/12/69.

This is something that has ammused me for years. OK its a show set in the 60's, I know that but It just ludicrous that the characters are ageing yet the show never moves forward in time. Gina was about 18 when she first arrived and she's like 35 or something now, meaning she's aged in just a few years if you get me.
Will Heartbeat still be running in 20 years time with a wrinkled, grey haired Gina behind the bar, yet still be set in 1969?

She has a 60s look about her.
It does seem odd that Heartbeat has been going since 1992, so should be in 1975 now |

For reality purposes they need to move to the 70's....how else are people going to explain away the 15 Christmas' they had in the 60's.
If they refuse to move on then they need to axe the clearly ageing actors |

ITV or BBC should make a nostaliga show based just say 50 years ago so it would be 1957 this year, 10 years time if it would still be on it would be 1967 and so on
