I dont think its true-theres obviously a problem. We learned this about joanne a few days ago from one of the magazines. I doubt shes an illegal immigrant though-although this is soapland so anythings possible...she wont be deported though. Wed have heard if she was leaving...

I think hello.member meant ITV-they use coronation street to make things like desperation street or temptation street...i know that was you llama king who came up with deportation street but the joke didnt fall flat-hello.member just meant the whole general thing ITV do with the name....but it worked perfectly so it did so clever you for coming up with it!

Her twin sister must be as well, then, is she? Or have they forgotten her large twin sister?!

I assumed they were both born in Weatherfield!

Her "identical twin" went to work as an airhostess. This means she must have a valid UK Passport otherwise she would not have got the job. So, assuming that her sister has status to get a passport then so must Joanne? But then again, as previous posters have said - this is soapland!!!!!!!!

I THOUGHT HER SISTER WENT TO BE A RED cCOAT (OR SOMETHING SIMILAR) SHE IS TOO BIG TO BE AN AIR HOSTESS THEY HAVE WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS!!

Weird type of storyline..

I don't think you have to have a UK passport - just a valid one from whichever country issued it.

It's possible that she had a visa that has run out - so she may not have entered the country illegally at the time she moved here

And Joanne is one of my favourite characters, her scenes with Kelly drag her down though. One's with Fizz and Leanne would be much more of a benefit for the characters development

Their Dad was a business colleague of Mike's who he'd known for ages, so he told Danny to give them jobs when they first appeared. That was how the writers introduced them and got them instant jobs.

It was certainly a business colleague of Mike's so clearly he had a good job, which gives the impression he'd been in the country for a good while!

I think the writers have just forgotten Joanne's family if this storyline is true!
