So who were your favorites this week? Mine are pretty much the same - Clay, Josh, and Trenyce. I think my favorite out of them was Trenyce this time. I loved her performance and right now I'm hoping she goes all the way. Oh, and Josh really needs to stop pulling those patriotic strings. It's becoming irritating. Am I the only one who cannot stand those little video bios? It's almost unbearable to watch. Every time they would walk into an auditorium and people would be cheering for them my 13-year old sister said, "They paid them to do that!"

I'm sad Vanessa had to go, but not terribly upset. I would have rather seen Julia go. It's a shame, really. I used to be a fan of hers. But the "you're opinion doesn't really matter"and "what did you think?" just really did it in for me. Hello! Know who Justin Guarini is? After he said that he landed in the bottom three. That and she has NO stage presence (or rhythm for that matter). It's one thing to stand there and just rock back and forth, but another to do it off the beat. *shudder*

I feel like all I do is complain about stuff on this show, but what should I expect when ninety percent of it is pure drivel? Why do I keep watching? It's a mystery.

On Monday the judges were guests on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I love Simon. Jay asked the judges to say how far current stars would get on American Idol. When asked about Norah Jones, Simon admitted he didn't like her! I couldn't believe it. I thought I was the only person on the planet who wants to throw themselves into traffic when they hear her music. That made my day (well night, really).

Gotta disagree there Jess. I love Nora Jones. Mind, that was way before her Grammy triumph, so have you had her records rammed down your throat since as "the next greatest thing"? If so, you're probably sick of her.
Back to American Idol- I just think that Clay is head and shoulders above the rest. What on earth did Si mean when he said it was Broadway? It was brilliant. I thought the guest judge was pretty useless. He was too much like Paula, thinking they were all great. I bet he was really rubbing his hands thinking "look at all the royalties I'm getting for my songs!"
I dont rate Julia, Charles, Corey or Rickie either. And just what is the fuss over Ruben. He didn't sound as good as they made him out to be.I agree with you about Trenyce though.
All in all, I wait till they get down to the last 5. Then it'll get interesting.

Thought it was a good show - better singers than the Pop Idol UK version. I thougth Corey was so smooth, liked Trenyce a lot. She was the standout performance for me!

Juila win stay, i would like her to go far and she is totally hot beyond belief.
Get rid of the useless, uppopular singers and lets get to a better stage in this thing.

NoDoubtJess, I also thought Trenyce and Clay were the best on Tuesday night. I really think Vanessa went home because of the scripted comment she made to Ryan. They didn't tell anyone that it was fake until after the break, so I think a lot of people missed that part. I also saw the judges on The Tonight Show, and I thought the funniest part was when he said J-Lo wouldn't make it through the first round! Finally, someone tells it like it is. The girl really can't sing.

Warning-coz we dont get to see it til Friday night then you have to stick "Spoiler" on your post so those people with far more self control than I have, can enjoy Friday without knowing who sucked and who was great. Still going for Clay though-he's got that vulnerable, I'm not full of myself, sort of vibe.Trenyce as runner up at this stage I think- but I could change my mind!!!

I'm glad you told me about these boards. I will try not to ruin the surprise for any Brits who have to wait a few days for the show. At least you get both shows in one night! Should I post in silver and then ask people to highlight it? I think I saw that before.

I absolutely loved the last episode. I've watched it four times so far.....call me obsessed. lol. and to imagine i'm even more obsessed with Survivor. lol.

Anyways...i wanted to throw the tv thru the window when Vanessa got booted. She was my fave along with Clay. She reminds me of a lot of my friends...and she's so funny. Love her pig too..Bacon bits. lmao.

I agree with NoDoubtJess that Trenyce was by far the best. She was phenomenal i thought. She jumped up on my favorites list just from that performance. I thought Clay, Vanessa, Kim C, and Carmen were good as well. Corey too. I think Rickey and especially Charles should not be there. They need to be booted soon. lol. I don't get the hype with Ruben...i don't think he's as great as the judges try to make him seem. Overall, GREAT episode tho!

Yes, NoDoubtJess, that sounds good! I forgot that I can't post a new thread yet. Kelly is on tonight, and I hope she's singing a new single. I'd like to see what her new album is like. I'm not so sure about the movie, but I think tons of people will go to see it. It's more of a phenomenon thing than actually going to see them act. Know what I mean? There will be adults sneaking into the back of the theatre all over America. LOL.

This is the last week that it will be a two-hour show. Tomorrow night will be an hour show, so I wonder how they are going to drag it out. It was torture the last time they did that. TVGuide.com said that next week's show will be an hour. We sit through three hours of American Idol and commercials, while the Brits get it condensed because of all of the breaks. Lucky ducks.
