He is so cocky, loves himself and his own voice... does not shut up talking over other people SOOOOOOO annoying

I liked him on the first night, because I think he is good on his radio show but since moving into the academy, I can't stand him.

Second that...always thought of him as talentless.

He's a scally from Belfast who cant believe his luck. Like many DJs on Radio 1 (Chris Moyles, Scott Mills etc) he is surrounded by people who polish his ego by telling him how wonderful he is by just 'being himself' but this is just an excuse for having no talent. He doesn't have the depth of knowledge, education or articulacy of a John Peel, Bob Harris or Annie Nightingale but that doesn't matter as neither do the people who employ him. He will have an opinion on any and every subject and because he is on the radio he feels he has the right to share it.

Seems to be fixated by Tricia's choice of dress this evening?

And that false cheesy smile that always seems to remain fixed on his smug self-satisfied face.

I don't like him either. He does not shut up. He has an opinion on everything. I think Trisha was getting a bit peed off when he was going on about what colour dress to wear and her legs. In the end she said she was going to wear trousers

He has a bit of an unfair advantage as well as he is being plugged non stop on Radio 1.

Yep. I agree. Drives me mad. Never listens to anyone, just waits for the tiniest opportunity to showcase HIS voice and opions yet again.

I agree he's awful. A real teachers pet, and the attention has to be on him all the time. Its Me, Me, Me all the time. I was surprised to see what a corporate boy he was.

The trouble is, with all the support he is getting from Radio 1 he will probably be there at the end.

I agree he is so full of himself and I would imagine he would get on your nerves if you had to be with him for any length of time. He is desperate to be a celeb and yes he does look like Ben Elton.

I really must dissaggree (sp?) - just watched him on the live streaming, and he didn't seem cocky at all, quite the opposite, he seemed to be feeling a bit sensitive... I still like him.....

Totally agree with you there, personally I have hardly listened to Radio 1 since Mark and Lard left

Oh thank goodness for that, I was scrolling down these posts and was getting worried. I don't think he deserves to win but I don't see what is unlikeable about him...

I think that he is a genuine, kind, likeable bloke and very funny.

Can't believe I've found you all!

This guy has been irritating me for years! He used to host a show that was on at about 4am on Ch.4 showcasing up and coming british bands, and although I liked the show he was soooo irritating.

Why is it that now he presents the European Poker Championships, and even football on Ch5????

He might be a nice guy but f**k me, he is annoying.

Mark and Lard were very funny in their day but Chris Moyles show is wicked and very funny, Scott Mills show is entertaining, Jo Whiley has great guests on playing live, Edith's show is good, and so is Colin's and you hear all the new and up and coming bands and music and info on Zane Lowe's show....

Personally I think that Radio One is one of the best stations to tune into...there's something for everyone.

I thought his little emotional moment this morning when rehearsing the song was very calculating. He knows those clips get shown on the VT in the evening show and had fretted that he was seen as too cocky so decided to show the sensitive side.

You could be right, but i really don't think he's quite that good an actor. Or I am gullible and seduced by his dirty good looks!!!
