I've just bought one and its a really good phone, highly recommended. TV you get BBC1, C4, E4, ITN News, ITV1 and all the DAB radio stations. It comes with Windows Mobile o/s so you can install all sorts of handy programs. I'm waiting for my 1GB micro sd card to turn up then I'm installing Tom Tom Mobile software onto it for sat nav. This phone has everything, get one.

I was looking at this phone at one point, but it had too many down points for me. There's no bluetooth, it's a slow phone, and is very ugly. There's plenty of other smartphones out there that do a lot more for a similar price without the TV. I'd be tempted to get another smartphone and transfer DVD's or whatever you already watch onto the memory card if you're intent on watching TV.

It is a smartphone, but as smartphones go it's not even doing some features of smartphones from 3-4 years ago. I would avoid it.

It does have bluetooth and I got mine for £80 with £30 credit, a bargain?

I did buy it for the DAB radio and to buy a bulkier pocket DAB radio would cost you £100

Its a really good phone packed with features, I'm well chuffed with it

I agree, a good value dab radio, with added smartphone and bluetooth.

A slight inconvenience is that you need to plug in the earphones, as they act as the aerial. Also, no dedicated case available. But these are minor points. Overall, I'm very pleased with it.

Edit: It also can take a micro sd card, so you can play lots of mp3 tracks.

They've updated it then - the very first production ones didn't have bluetooth, I can see it has now, but it is slower than many other smartphones. I think it's a novelty with mobile TV, and is an additional expense if you're not on a price plan that many people won't be able to justify to themselves.

like i have said in previous threads, i bought one and it cost me £99.99, it came with £25 phone credit and £25 virgin vouchers. i mainly use mine as a media player as at the moment i cant find a case for it to protect it from scratches. the dab is okay the tv is okay but after 90 days it will cost a fiver per month to update the licence. mp3`s play okay but it lacks sound equilizer, also the headphones are a bit uncomfortable, could do with an adapter so you can plug in different headphones. you can use different headphones for mp3 playback but if you want to watch tv or listen to dab you have to use the original ones, the bit that plugs into the phone is some sort of special connection. regards popp

I do not know how important it is to use the original headphones as an aerial, but I have plugged in a 2.5mm to 3.5mm extension lead in, and the radio seems to work OK. Usual disclaimers about "do not try this at home", as I've no idea whether it is possible to damage equipment, eg if the signal is accidentally too strong if you don't use the factory supplied stuff.

Thats handy to know, I didnt think it worked with normal 2.5mm headphone leads, where did u get the extention from?

you are right about being able to use other headphones for dab and tv use. its seems the reason i was not getting anything off my alternative headphones was because they are at least 8 inches shorter than the standard headphones. with standing upstairs and holding the headphone cable above my head i managed to get some garbled dab radio after doing a full scan. so it seems i need other headphones but ones that are fairley long. cheers Eater Sundae..

Ebay. I do not have access to ebay at the moment, I'll try and post a link if it is a company that has more, when I am home this evening. it was nothing special, just a male to male lead, 2.5mm to 3.5mm, about 60cm long.

Loving my Lobster .... but

Does anyone else have problems with actually being able to hear phone calls being made? I don't use the earphones ...

I cannot seem to change the volume ..

At the start of a phone call, the sound is really low, I can hardly hear it - then it turns itself up louder

Does anyone else have this problem? How do you turn the volume up/down?

Edit:
Found it .... it think ... settings --> accessibility

This is the one I bought, to attach the Lobster to a small fm transmitter that I already have, which transmits a signal to my car radio. The aim is to use my phone to listen to dab radio or mp3, over my car radio, but I've not actually done it yet.

The company was in Hong Kong, and I found what I wanted by searching ebay. There are lots of alternatives, usually male to female, but I specifically wanted male to male.

Cheers for the link Eater Sundae.

Did you get it working with your transmitter in the car because I've got one and was thinking of doing the same?

rock8633, what do you think of your new phone?

No.

I bought the lead in the clear and absolute knowledge that my transmitter had a 3.5mm socket. It turns out that it actually has a 2.5mm socket, so I will need a 2.5 to 2.5 extension after all. . All is not lost, as I can still use the lead I have to connect my phone to my home audio system, if I wish.

The transmitter I have takes a usb memory stick, so I had never any reason to use the socket until now, and I'd never bothered to check it was 3.5mm - I just assumed it was.

mr.susan.

I didnt expect the same picture as my normal tv signal but was surprised to see iits not that bad, BBC 1 isnt as good as the others and the fact that you lose some programing due to rights is a pain but i can live with it, the sound quality though the headset is pretty decent when listening to Dab radio but the speaker on the phone isnt, just bought my self a 1gb card so i can put some films on it for £7-00 not bad.So i would give it a 8 out of 10 ...its a good buy..
