I like Fred!
Ok he might not be the best singer of the bunch, but he is funny and likeable!
Was 'McCoist and McCauley' only shown in Scotland? He was witty and amusing on that. I thought that his recovery last night was pretty fair too. Dont vote Fred out- he's a nice guy -honest!! |

I so wanted to support Fred too, but his personality is being complete oveshadowed in the academy.
I like him on Radio Scotland in the morning but I have been disappointed with him on CFA so far. But I agree - he IS a nice guy

Yes, I agree he's a nice guy, but he's got a good face for radio. On TV he seems to try too hard and comes across as awkward, wooden and unfunny.

Thirded.
McCoist and Macaulay was shown south of the border, but it wasn't great. |

Actually, the only reason why I've been watching the programme is because of Fred. I'd heard all the stuff on his morning radio show about how he was going to be appearing on Fame Academy and I wanted to see how he would do.
I'm afraid he's been disappointing, though. Still, when he gets voted out I can stop watching again, I suppose! Last edited by Sigurd : 10-03-2007 at 10:54. |

I like his radio show too and I normally like him on TV too. He is both funny and likable. However, the Fred MacAulay that we Scottish listeners/viewers are used to is not coming across in this programme, for some reason. I don't think he has the worst singing voice by any means, though.

Perhaps it doesn't help Fred to relax when Lesley Garrett keeps going on about the horrors of his Scottish vowels.

I agree. Would she criticise someone from India for singing in an Indian accent?

I was surprised Fred voted to save Mel and not Tim. I had heard him say something along the lines of, if you've been saved in the bottom 3 before then you wouldn't vote for them. If his vote had gone to Tim then it would have been 4 votes each.

http://www.lyricsfreak.com/p/proclai..._20111500.html I do like Fred and I don't think he is the worst singer on there but he is not the best. I'm surprised no one has mentioned his appearances on Mock the Week I thought he was good on there. I do think he has been... I think restrained might be the word. |

I'd never heard of him, but I really like him after watching the Live Streaming. He comes across as a down to earth, straightforward, nice man.
And after all the conflict of BB, which I have now officially given up on, I like that.

Fred was back on his Radio Scotland show MacAulay and Co this morning and had quite a lot to say about Fame Academy.
Click on Listen Again on this page: http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/radios...?macaulayandco It's mainly the first half hour of the programme that's about FA, as far as I can recall, and there's a few minutes of the previous programme (abouot potholes in roads) before Fred's show. The show should stay in Listen Again until about 11am on Thursday. By the way, there's an excellent and moving programme called Return from Freedom on the Listen Again page: it's about a German WW2 prisoner of war returning to the Scottish camp that he was held in. Nothing at all to do with Fame Academy, but a fine programme. Last edited by Sigurd : 14-03-2007 at 12:09. |

Thanks Sigurd for the link. It was interesting what he had to say about the other contestants. And about Richard Park.
