Are EastEnders allowed to name products? I have never noticed the things like this but something happened the other day which made me think they may have broken some broadcast rule. I think someone did mention coke a cola. Isn't that advertsing in a sense which is not allowed and why all soaps have to make up their own brands?

I think it's because the shape of the slogan on the bags and products is very similar to LIDL but is not actually LIDL. Not sure though, just guessing that may be the reason.

They aren't supposed to name products. The company that my Dad works for supplied them with some stuff, but the brand name always has to be covered because they cannot advertise.

It is because as someone has suggested, it is the closest store to the set/studios in Borehamwood.
