Editing recordings on a PVR160

I'm not sure how common this feature is in PVRs but I find it quite irritating to have adverts/pther programmes at the beginning and end of my recording. Call me difficult but is there such a feature on the PVR 160 that I might have missed.

If not, which PVRs have this feature?

Hi.

Other than downloading the files to a PC and editing. I think the only way to edit might be to record the program to DVD, then editing that. The cheapest PVR that I know has some editing capabilities (an ability to cut out sections) is the Humax PVR 9200T (Hummy). There is an enormous amount of info on this site, and the .org and .wiki sites.

Sorry I cannot be of further help.

PS - There are DVD recorders in the low price range that has cutting capabilities (even an Alba!)

Regards,

Tim.

The Sagem PVRs (probably the newer DVRs too, but not sure on that) have editing facilities - splitting, merging and cutting. Although cutting adverts, etc, out won't gain any disk space since it just marks the current recording rather than deleting bits out of the stream. That said, I used to own a Sagem PVR 6240T, and I would strongly recommend not buying a Sagem - far more unreliable and buggy than the Digihome, plus Sagem release lots of software updates yet they never seem to actually fix anything, and usually make things worse.

The DVR series retain all but the merge operation of the PVR editing, removed in the recent OAD.
