LCD TV (No audio out) & Sound system
I have a LCD TV with no audio out and want to connect it to a 5 speaker sound system.
On the LCD TV, it has a socket referred to as a SPDIF socket. Can that be used for such a connection ? Rob |

SPDIF is fir carrying digital multichannel sound, using typically an optical digital (TOSLINK) or coaxial digital connection.
for example, Sky+ has a toslink connector which can link to the optical input of a Dolby digital amp. This sounds like what you need to connect to your amp tho you may have optical connection on the TV but coaxial connection into your amp. If this is the case you need a converter like this http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...=SEO&U=strat15 Rgds, Scorp |
