Not being picky, but... {Italian music}
I don't mean to be picky but I need a song for the opening of my drama AS play.
It is set in Italy (Venice to be precise) and we use Vivaldi's Winter from the four seasons to end the play/exam, however we need something to open it. I, as I'm in charge of music, am looking at something along these lines:

Summer Vibe
Italian obviously
Not too slow (i.e. Nessun Dorma, That's Amore
Not upbeat
Not recent
Possibly classical
Not popular (pop) music
Something chilled out and relaxed
Something that you would associate with walking around calmly and casually in Venice/Italy and feel relaxed with.
Any help?

Try this - an updated and cheery arrangement of Santa Lucia which is all about Venice.
It starts with a short interview and the song (sung live by Hayley Westenra) starts 1m 40s into the clip. ![]() You could also choose one of the original arrangements of it, done more operatically by Mario Lanza and many others, or mix 'n match the arrangements! That looks good but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Any other ideas?
Or does anyone have a copy of it? |
