Corrie: Dev Alahan has a major storyline coming up...
...doesn't he? I heard a while back, on this board, that it would be this month,
but does anyone know exactly when - or even if he DOES have a storyline at all? One reason why I wish I'd watched "Coronation Street" as much as "EastEnders" between 2004 and 2005, is for the storyline where Dev tried to marry Sunita but was framed for bigamy by Maya, who then blew up several of his shops AND the unfolding story of his fathering many illegitimate children with other women which IIRC spelled the end of his marriage, prompting her exit last year! The marriage/hostage storyline (from what I saw on "TV Burp") seemed more 'explosive' than any events involving the Ferreiras in "EastEnders", almost at the same time! P.S. I've been watching EE non-stop since 2002, and now I can't add any other soaps to my weekly TV viewing, as I'm in full-time work, and therefore don't have time to watch them! because their events were, with hindsight, worth watching, and their being Asian is positively striking. BTW last year, towards the end of a degree course at university (BA Media With Cultural Studies), I did a 10,000-word-dissertation called "Class And Ethnicity In British Television Soap Operas". If you would like a copy, send me a PM with your e-mail address, and I'll send it to you - really! Last edited by adam_fransella : 11-03-2007 at 15:55. |
