Home Cinema - £200 max
Heya
Im looking to get some 5.1 surround sound in my living room, working on a £200 budget. Present set up I have is xbox 360, Virgin HD, Panasonic DVD player, all connected up to my Samsung 32" HD LCD. Now I know its a tight budget, but any help would be appreciated. Couple I have noticed being the sony hss1000 and the two below, in which I cant find any reveiws on. http://www.pixmania.co.uk/dev/gui_we...au=1&ArticleId[]=524346&ArticleId[]=440430 Any other advice would be good as im lookin to purchase ASAP. |

Thanks for the responses. Checked the panasonic one, looks good but im trying to avoid getting the dvd player. Iv got a dvd recorder and the xbox hd player on its way.
And the £500.....I did have that to spend, but the missus cant be doing without sky one, so we are using part of that to get sky HD, and thats a wacking £300 for their HD box, so hence the £200 max. The sony one i mentioned does have the HDMI 2 input/1output which is kinda tempting me for that reason. http://www.pcwb.com/catalogue/item/S...e&lead=froogle Was just curious if there was anything similar, of if the HDMI was really required..obviously advised. |

I have the SS1000 and am more than please with it. It might not have all the inputs/outputs of some other systems, but it is a very neat unit. I use it to connect up the following, Sky HD, Upscaling DVD and DVD recorder.
If I did not have the recorder I would only need one cable from the amp to TV, keeps things very tidy. 99.9% of all my viewing at the moment seems to be from Sky. Just be aware there are certain input selections. This is how I have them. Vid 2 = hdmi + optical input ( Sky HD ) DVD = hdmi + coax input ( Upscaling DVD ) sacd = optical input. ( DVD recorder ) Last edited by leaky5 : 12-03-2007 at 14:29. |
