Charlie was bad.
To Shelley.
He bullied her mentally and physically.
She was the bigger woman-she left him and eventually stood up to him.

Tracy was given a life of luxury-house, clothes, money etc etc
He cheated on her with Maria-and didnt he sleep with Shelly too?
Tracy knew this and could have left-but no. She needed revenge. Murder for having an affair-not justified. Not that im saying Shelly killing Charlie would have been justifiable either-but she had a much better reason for doing so!

In tomorrow's episode her solicitor makes the point that three times she left him and three times she went back to him. Not something an abused woman terrified of him would do, really!

I suppose you can argue that she really really loved him and despite everything he did to her he had a hold on her and she loved him so much....

Mental abuse confuses people and Tracy could argue she tried to escape him but she kept being fooled and going back to him.

Didnt Little Mo do the same thing with Trevor at some stage in EE?

I certainly didn't infer that because someone cheated they should be killed!! I was simply responding to the poster who said Charlie didn't do ANYTHING to Tracy.

but realistically he never did anything to tracy, look at what happened with shelley, it was all wrong, i never agreed with it but you tell me wht he ever did to tracy, i know the only thing that he did was sleep with maria, tracy didnt have to stay, she kind of knew he was a bit of a player, look at how mant times he cheated on shelly, tracy was strong, she could have walked out, but she didnt. sorry if i mis understood you

Is this perhaps not a little over the top? I love Corrie and always contribute to the episode threads, but you're aware that it is fictitious and we're talking about characters here, right?

Sadly you are wrong - read accounts of abused woman and you will see countless examples of how the man won the woman back by claiming they'd change and it'd never happen again. Or else the woman was so desperate that they went back to the man time after time thinking THEY were the ones at fault.

If Maria is being called as a witness for the prosecution, I am surprised that the defence haven't considered calling Shelley. Although Tracy would be against it, it would add strength to the nature of Charlie's character.

All he did was play her at her own games - he could see through her, but put up with her because it amused him.
Sadly, he hadn't realised just how evil she is when he finally decided he'd had enough.

Yes, you'd think Shelly would be a prime candidate to be called, altho this is obviously because the actress has no intention of returning to the Street.

The could do it the Neighbours way with a couple of lines from Ken and Deirdre along the lines of "Shelly really did us a huge favour with her testimony".

Did anyone else on the street, apart from Charlie, know about the imaginary pregnancy/abortion?
I seem to remember him telling Jason, but I could well be wrong.

Do these show she's found guilty?

http://www.rexfeatures.com/cgi-bin/r...25&fNewest.y=9

She wouldn't be locked up while the trial is on, as she's out on bail, she'd just go to court every day, and what was filmed yesterday would be on screen around April 10, so ...... she'd only be cuffed and in a prison van if she was sent down, so .... Guilty, m'lud, by the look of it!

What a load of old tosh: According to the Sun they are inviting readers to "Join Sun's murder jury".

We will choose a jury of 12 TV Biz readers and let them decide. We will take them to the court in Bradford where the case was filmed and outline the evidence of the night Tracy hit Charlie on the head with an ornament. We will also present Tracy's defence. Our jurors will have to suspend their disbelief and forget what they have already seen on screen to reach their verdict. We will tell you their decision before the tv scenes are aired.

I've a feeling they're trying to back-pedal on KF's departure as Granada are still peddling the line that they have filmed two endings (KF had better still be leaving!!!)

Women like Shelley, yes, who was brain dead when with Charlie, but not a woman like Toxic. That's why it was mentioned, because they are starting to doubt she's telling the truth. Why would a ball breaker like Toxic choose to go back to an abuser like Charlie? She wouldn't, cos he wasn't abusing her.

I think the Rex Features pics are the actual filming of her being found guilty and carted off to jail (still screaming as the door closes! ) because all they do with 'alternative endings' is put the actual picture of it in the paper. You don't see them 'filming' it, they just take photos of the 'alternative ending' while they're filming the real ending - if you see what I mean! In other words, Rex Feature would show her filming being released, and a picture would appear of her in handcuffs (as it did in the Sun) to show the other ending. The fact these pics show it being filmed make it the only ending they ever intended, in my humble opinion.

The Sun - a load of old tosh, indeed. I think they've been influenced by the Who killed Tom King Murder game ITV have got going on that seems to go on forever!

I hope you're right Flukie, because frankly it's about time we were all given a rest from her constant (and often less than adequate) performance in every storyline going.

On a side note, I'm wondering if the National Soap Awards or whatever they're called will give a Best Supporting Actress gong to Deirdre's neck muscle for outstanding contribution...hmm

Yes, we all know Tracy wouldn't (although in real life we don't really get to know anyone THAT well) but that's not what you said in your original post - you said a woman terrified of her partner wouldn't go back to him 3 times and sadly the facts are that it does happen all too frequently and often ends in tragedy.

I'd say it should get the lifetime achievement award.

As I was talking about Toxic, I was referring to Toxic. I obviously phrased it the wrong way!
