Odd voting patterns

I wonder what is going on with the voting? I dont suspect anything odd but almost every1 has been in the bottom 3 and angelica seems to be in there one day and out the next. In x factor every1 knows whos going

Is there a pattern if we throw in the judges comments and vote transfers from evicted celebs? Last night, the judges were harsh on Angelica and she might get votes from some who used to vote for Zoe.

It's the fickle nature of the voting public - and perhaps the fact that you apparently know who will be going in X Factor is an indication of something ......

Its probably down to the fact that only a small %age of the votes are actually being counted (those during the live show).

All that says is
Quote:
“Vote opening and closing times are as advertised during the programmes. Votes made outside of these times will not be counted but will b charged.”

That just means that when they say the lines are open, they are, and when they say they're close, they're closed.

They close shortly before we're told the bottom 3. A while later, we're told the lines are open and we can vote again.

Don't panic people Demagee has got the wrong end of the stick. What it means is that when they say the lines close during the live show they close and therefore no more votes are cast until they say that they are open at the end of the show.

so its just for the small amount of time that they are counting the votes and announcing them, until they re-open again.

That just means the ones that come in between the closing and reopening of the vote lines during the results show.

The voting pattern is as random in this as it was in IMCGMOOH back in november

Yes, and the lines then remain open until the next night, and the next eviction.

Usually with these things there is a bounce vote - in the bottom three one night if you survivie you often get enough votes to save you the night after.

Also if the judges uneccessarily slag someone then this usually galvanises the public into action and makes them vote for the one getting all the stick.

Personally I vote for the one who entertains me the most whoever that may be. Not all voters think like that.

Last night the bottom three by rights I think should have been Fred (he gets the scottish vote plus the judges were particularly harsh on him imo), Angelica (however she cried - always a vote winner when after all it is supposed to be for fun and for charity) and Ray (he was very eloquent with the judges when defending the students without sounding childish).

However the three who were in the bottom Mel (got good comments from the judges therefore people didn't feel the need to undo injustice by picking up the phone, Shaun (same reason as Mel) and Colin (he got a terrible edit on the little package before hand and he is generally a bit of an ass and is imo doing himself no favours with the public due to his arrogance, cockiness and all round childishness - not a fan of his by the way in case you hadn;t guessed).

The voting on this series has been the most unpredictable I've seen. You just can't call who's going to be in the bottom 3!

I'm also being constantly surprised by who is in the bottom 3. On the swing night, when Mel and Shaun gave good performances, they were both in the bottom 3, whereas some other like Ray and Angelica, who gave poor performances were not.

The biggest surprise is that Ray hasn't been in the bottom 3! Perhaps my ears need syringing!! I guess he comes across as probably the nicest and least desperate contestant there, so that must be part of the appeal?!?!

One theory is that the ones who sing earliest are in danger. I think it was said that only Ray has escaped this. (Tara didn't last night, Ray still did.)

I think the judges comments HUGELY effect the voting. There is a vote reaction FOR contestants they have mauled, if it's seen unjustified. And I think also there is a vote reaction AGAINST contestants who they overly praise (like Tara last night, whose performance was week but then really praised - eh??)

I think Shaun and Trisha need to be mauled a bit by the judges to counteract the feeling by lots of the audience that "oh they are singers already, they are here to get work later". They seem a bit too desperate that is goign against them.

Peeps like Ray as he seems to have no personal gain out of it but is doing it purely for CR.

That's a good point, but Ray has been over-praised more than anyone, and it doesn't seen to have hurt him very much.

So I think the judge effects have to be combined with other things.

That's true.
It's happened twice now that the bottom 3 are the very first 3 to sing. This happened when Tim, Zoe and Mel were in the bottom 3, and when Shaun, Mel and Colin were 2 nights ago.
and some have been very close to this! Like last night Fred and Tara were 1st and 2nd to sing, and Tricia was first.

Also, it's worth noting that nobody who's sang in one of the last 3 spots of the night have gone on to the bottom 3.

Edith Bowman said on Radio One yesterday only to vote when the show was on air as other votes are not counted. The BBC needs to sort this ambiguity out, especially in the light of the investigations into phone votes for other channels are ongoing
