The betting suggest that it may be a Shaun/Tara which would good as it would pit someone who has had some degree of musical training ie Shaun against a complete amatuer ie Tara. However it all depends if Tara is in the bottom 3 again tonight

She can't sing, she looks AWFUL, clearly she will go along way!!

And even if she doesn't, she can just go on another bender and Mummy & Daddy will foot the bill.

We're supposed to vote for our 'favourite'. ie - vote for whoever you want to vote for. Define your own criteria. Whatever makes someone your favourite - vote for them.

The comments from Carrie and David are to the judges for not recognising improvement. Not an instruction to us on how to vote.

Yes, that's what I thought. People seem to be taking it at face value and voting for the most improved student. But as you say, we can vote on whatever basis we want. On another thread, someone was criticising the judges for voting for the best singers when they 'should' be voting for the most improved... clearly a bit of a misunderstanding.

Exactly. Viewers can and will vote based on whatever criterion they choose. I'm certainly not going to vote for someone on the basis that they have improved from disastrous to diabolical.

Tara is a trained concert pianist.

Having heard her play the piano, I wouldn't go that far!

Well it's true.

I suppose it depends what you mean by concert pianist. I had piano lessons for over 10 years, so I'm theoretically a trained pianist, but 'concert pianist' is usually taken to mean a top professional who makes their living from performing. And that Tara certainly ain't.

From the BBC CFA site:
Quote:
“Tara is an accomplished concert pianist having played at the Royal Festival Hall with the National Symphony Orchestra, entertained audiences at the Royal Albert Hall with Mozart and performed at The Coliseum for a Leonard Bernstein Tribute. ”

she is good. You can't judge her piano playing on that performance because she was concentrating mainly on her singing.

That was only her second performance and she was still struggling with it and sweating profusely.

Probably not, but she's probably good enough that she doesn't embarrass herself.

Quite. And that is what they are doing.

Sorry, but did I actually say otherwise (i.e. that it was an instruction to vote)?
