Are Craig and Lesley overiding Richard Park on purpose?
They are helping to defeat the purpose of the show by putting through the recording artist rather than the most improved.
No, the way I see it is that, whenever Lesley and Craig vote the same way, Richard will say that he would have voted for someone else. Of course, we will never know whether he would have or not. It's part tacftul, part tactical.

I suppose ... but given his Zoe vote, I'm inclined to believe him.
In all fairness, they have voted for the best singer... however i think the comic relief element should be taken into consideration, AT LEAST Parky can kind off do this eg his votes for Mel and Tara... However I'm baffled by the Zoe vote
Richard's votes make sense - after the Tim one where he voted for the one who looked like a pop star thinking he was on X Factor.
Craig and Lesley are now taking their turn to ruining it by not shaping the student's choices and just going with the best singer. Their only excuse is that unlike the last series these students can't be relied upon to save the best singers - the last set of CFA students had a completely realistic idea of who deserved to stay most - all this lot think they should. . Parkie would have kept Mel as the show is now comic less - Craig failed to back him. Parkie would have had Shaun up against Colin which would remove Colin and tonight he would have made sure Tara was safe because she is their last character who can sing.

Had Parky not been stupid enough to vote with his trousers and save Zoe I don't think there would have been a problem. (Was that the night Tim went?)

Indeed, in show terms they have to keep Tara, because she can be funny, she can give expressive, involving performances, and she has a story arc; and they have to keep Trish since she's a competent singer and more appealing than Shaun. Maybe Angelica 'cause she's cute and sparky and is getting better.
A Tara vs Tricia final could be interesting, and I think it's hard to be excited about any other combination, though I'd have a big
if it was Colin vs Angelica and Angelica won.It all worked last time: the best two (but contrasting) singers reached the final, and a comic reached all but.
But these days a lot of reality shows seem to be suffering from perverse viewer votes and inconsistent, unjustifiable judging. I don't see how they're going to make it to Friday with an interesting combination left.
If the people making this show have any sense, they will make sure the women (especially Tara) get a good night's sleep, tell Colin to put a sock in it, get Richard to stop sending votes to the ones who perform poorly, ...

Is there anything to say the winner is supposed to be the person who's improved the most? Yes, it's great to see them improving, but that's only part of the story.
Maybe Craig and Lesley have colluded, but I think it's more likely that both today and yesterday they independently decided to vote for the singer who was clearly the best of the 3 choices.

As you imply, its quite an odd idea to vote for the most improved- it doesn't apply in FA 2 or CFA and seems to have crept in from SCD. How could you equate going from excruciatingly bad to sometimes just weak with going from very good to excellent? Its not even clear if one is harder than the other or one owes more to the coaches' work .It could just be rewarding people for Carrie or David's teaching skill.
The Tim saga may work both ways. The other two judges don't trust Richard to save the best singer and don't trust the students either, so they are saving the best singers and not shaping who else is left.
It was a lot easier last time. The students were agreed Ade should stay, they all supported Reggie and the men were all convinced that Edith, Kim, Dawn and Debra were far better singers and deserved to stay more. When it was close they tied the vote and left it to the public. This lot seem to be keeping buddies, inventing silly reasons, nursing grudges and too many of them think they should win.

I'm glad you agree! The other point is that when they say someone like Tricia hasn't really improved, I can't help thinking that she didn't have that much room for improvement compared with some of the others - she could already sing well.

Maybe it has something to do with it being a Fame Academy.
That was the line Richard was taking in the early days, and I think it at least makes sense.

At times, last year, the students even seemed to conspire to get a result they all agreed with. Which, of course, in a way is bad ... but still.
However, the quality of the singing is much lower this year, especially if ability to convey emotion is taken into account. If the vote can't really be between different kinds of good singing, it has to be about something else, how much they've learned and improved makes more sense than many alternatives.
