Will Tara and Colin come to blows
bobbly1

They don't really like each other, and Colin has wound Tara up again on the live feed after tonight's show (an incident with a lighter)

Tara seems ready to blow at him.

Is Colin doing it deliberately, as a tactic? I wonder.

She looks tired out, but the question is, will she go to bed and get a good nights sleep or will she stay up like night? I think she will toddle off to bed soon.

Good point Veri - he is intelligent enough to work out from the audience reaction, her popularity.

His face spoke a thousand words during her VT playback. You could almost see the cogs going round. A bit of jealousy there, I suspect.

Edit: and a bit of superiority too. I don't think he expected her to be so popular with the public

He probably wants to win this just like Edith won last year.
I havent gave him much thought. He doesnt stick out for me. But he better not wind Tara up too much..Emotions are starting to run high for every one. And he could look the bad guy if an argument starts between them two.

That and the fact that he consider to be more "real" than Tara, and while your're here you might as well add a little inverse snobbbery into the mix

But Edith was good.

Actually we had 4 competent singers last year, plus Jon Culshaw learnt fast and Ade Edmondson REALLY showed how to work around a lack of vocal talent (more so than Tara etc). It was far more entertaining!

He has a huge chip on his shoulder about that I think.

I don't know why she cares so much about what he thinks of her. he would hate me and i would be fine with that.

It may be that she's gets on well with everyone else and thus is concerned that Colin appears not to like her

I think perhaps she feels that Colin's dislike of her is based on other people's past perceptions, and that he's not really giving her a chance to get to know her properly.

I hope she just lets it go and not allow him to get to her.

Agree - suspect he is the type of person who is immediately anti anyone they see as being 'privileged'. He would be determined not to like Tara, purely - as Verence said - because of inverse snobbery. He's also probably quite annoyed with the fact that she's actually very likeable and gets on with everyone - so he is struggling to reinforce his preconceived ideas about how a 'rich bitch' should behave. Know she's not everybody's cup of tea - but from a lot of accounts, she has huge sex appeal - and wonder if he's struggling with that also.

As for Tara caring about what he thinks of her - IMHO, that's one of the qualities that make Tara as endearing as she is. She's incredibly sunny natured and does manage to get on with most people because she is so open and sweet with everyone. Can totally understand why she would be hurt if someone makes it obvious that they don't like her - and guess she'd be the type of person to wonder what she'd done wrong, rather than think that Colin is just a bigoted fool. She is not bitchy, nasty, aggressive, spiteful or moody - so there is no real reason for anybody to take an active dislike to her.

I dont know why but I got the impression that Colin and Tara already knew each other.
A few days ago when Colin was phoning Edith live on air, he passed the phone to Tara. Tara and Edith obviously knew each other so I assumed that Colin knew her as well.

Why Tara has such a problem with him Im not sure,

They dont really come from the same world.

Also perhaps if Tara and Edith are friends, Tara probably cant understand the friendship between Edith and Colin.
Colin keeps mentioning his fiancee... and both his fiancee and Edith are down there supporting him.
yet Colin and Edith dont even co-present a show any more..so why is she putting herself out so much... to support and encourage him.

Excellent post and I totally agree. I think Colin's preconceived ideas of Tara stopped him from ever getting to know her. Probably thought she was a dopey, self obsessed junkie and nothing was going to change his mind. He is no doubt surprised how popular she is, in and out of the academy, and I think there is a bit of jealously there too as he was probably expecting her to be first out, as no doubt he thought everyone else shared his view too.

Tara is perceptive enough to feel this from Colin, another one of her great qualities.

Carrie was defending Tara on CBBC. She said Colin thinks she is fake and that she isn't.

I always got the impression that Carrie was not that keen on Colin either. She always seems bored to tears when he was droning on in her lessons.

Sounds like Colin may be trying to play mind games on Tara.

Then when she loses her temper he can point his finger at her saying 'Look she isn't as nice as she makes out, she's fake, not like me who is real'.

I haven't been able to watch the live feed as much as I would like to but I think that Carrie may have moved Colin to her husband's group - I could be completely wrong of course!

Yes, Colin was with David this morning

Going against public opinion here, I like Colin more than I like Tara (perhaps it's because I've followed his career from the early days and that I've never really taken to her? All a matter of personal opinion I suppose....). Having said this, I think they should take a step back a second, and remember that is all for charity. (A reason why I can't hate Tara, as she must have a certain amount of good in her to agree to this).

Re: Colin moving classes. Yes, Colin now appears to be tutored by David, while Carrie now seems to have taken Tricia on as a replacement.
