You complain about Keilty offending homosexuals - fair enough I see your point. But in the process, you have managed to offend Catholics and in that previous statement possibly "mental patients". I don't say you have to believe, I'm saying at least respect the fact people do.

And with your 'being born with it' argument, it makes no difference if you're born with it or not.

I picked it up when Patrick Keilty said it and I thought it was a rather unfortunate turn of phrase, and inappropriate, so I can't say I am suprised at the response it has got.

I do think in a light entertainment charity event, he really needs to be more thoughtful in his turn of phrase.

I particularly dislike his constant references to the women as sex objects. I do realise it is for comic effect, but for me it just seems inappropriate.

ITA, I only ever had a Catholic Education, and was NEVER taught that homosexuality is 'wrong'. In fact, at school, we were explicitly told to take everything in the old testament 'with a pinch of salt'; and given that the ONLY place in the bible where homosexuality is forbidden is Leviticus 18:22, one could argue that we were indirectly taught that homosexuality is no different than any other sexuality.

Then you are not listening to your religious leader who is all for sticking his nose into gays in Spain.

So maybe you are some new sort of Catholic who does actually follow Catholic teaching that the Catholic leader teaches you.

And if you don't listen to your leader, then you are not a "Good" catholic. (In his eyes)

But did you notice that the thread title wasn't "personally attack Stratford?" it WAS about Mr Kielty.

I WILL state fact and won't be corrected by anyone basing their life upon worshipping invisible creatures even if they wish to from gangs and attack me rather than addressing the topic as they should be doing.

Catholics and homophobia have gone hand in hand for 100s of years and now the people who believe in invisible creatures are trying to make out there is absolutely no connection. Is there any end to their delusions?

Anyway, I glad we've got that sorted: Mr Kielty was out of order for using gay people as a tag line for his comedy.

Give him a warning and if he mentions gay people in an incorrect way again, sack him and do not employ him on any other BBC programme.

This sort of homophobia needs to stop and it needs to stop now.

What a pathetic man he is if he needs to cause offence to people who were born that way.

Mr Kiety was brought up a Catholic. You may be trying to play that down, but I see it as VERY relevant to a thread about Mr Kielty and homophobic remarks when the head of the Catholics (The Pope) openly puts down gay people whenever he can.

If being called a 'big gayer' is deemed offensive then surely those complaining are the ones with the prejudices as they regard being gay as a derogatory term which it obviously isn't!
