I guess it is getting increasingly difficult for comedians to make jokes about anyone or anything these days.Strangely enough gay comedians get away with sexual innuendo that a straight person wouldn't. And why is is it that gay people can make jokes about each other's campness, but no one else can? We may not have a choice about our sexual orientation or gender when we are born, but we do have a choice about how sensitive we are about our particular state.

Back on topic,

I was more annoyed by Paddy flicking a V sign at camera during his opening monologue and my 7 year old spending the next 5 mins doing the same!

But what you ALL seem to be missing is the TOPIC: Mr Kielty was raised a Catholic and as much as some of you wish to shout people down and cover up, the FACT is that the Pope and the Catholic religion (and many more religions including Muslims) are out and out homophobic.

I could paste up the pope's views on homosexual if you really need me to, but I would see that as pointless as the pope's homophobia is well documented.

But why do you think that DS would ban someone if they state an opinion about Muslims and not about Catholics? I am more that free to state the fact that Religious people believe in made up invisible creatures. (I mean, 1000s of years and God hasn't turned up yet has it?)

Unlike this thread, if religious people want to group together and try and bully someone, we now have laws to have them removed.

Religion is not protected anymore, so religious people will now have to come up with the goods or forever look foolish.

No, I wasn't offended, outraged or even felt like complaining about PK's gesture, it was merely poorly timed when children were likely to be watching and PK should be ticked off for it.

His original remark about being a "gayer" was not homophobic and the sooner you take your massive Chip off your shoulder, the better for us all.

Had he called Colin a Girl would that have been offensive to Women, no. It was an off the cuff remark, however your inability to differentiate between this and the real bigotry i.e your hostility to anyone from a Religion that does not agree with your sexuality is the real problem as you appear to believe that all practicing Catholic's are homophobic which is simply not true.
