Wednesday 14 March 7.30 - 8pm ITV1

Tracy (Kate Ford) returns from her pre-trial preparations with her barrister furious that he's interrogated her about the murder and won't tell her exactly what to say in court. As Tracy moans to her mother about the barrister warning her not to 'perform' in court, Deirdre's (Anne Kirkbride) doubts about Tracy's story intensify and she decides to confide her fears in Ken (William Roache). Will Deirdre turn a blind eye and try and disregard her suspicions or will she seek out the truth?

Meanwhile, at Underworld, Liam (Rob James-Collier) and Carla (Alison King) are anxious that they still haven't heard from Paul (Sean Gallagher). In a bid to get him to return Liam leaves a message on his answer phone telling him that he's told Carla about his involvement in Dean's death, but as time goes on Carla becomes more and more concerned that Paul's disappearance might be more serious than they realise.

Over in the Rovers, Liz (Beverley Callard) is disappointed when Vernon (Ian Reddington) rejects her offer of a romantic meal. So when Derek (David Houslow) makes a surprise visit to the pub she's flattered and agrees to let him take her out for a drink that evening! Liz gets all dolled up for her date with the charming delivery man, but just as they're about to leave Vernon unexpectedly arrives back to take her out! Poor Vernon is left feeling deflated as Liz instantly drops him to go out with Vernon!

Also, Peter (Chris Gascoyne) tries his hardest to win over Maria (Samia Smith), but will she dare to get involved with a Barlow?

This episode is written by Peter Whalley, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Pip Short.

Isn't this delivery chap married Surely, the first thing Liz should have said to him was 'what about your wife'?

Tonight's ep was pretty average.

Indeed but wasnt Peter and the gum just a nice little addition-its something in real life I see all the time being done but never on tele. See-even us seeing it and talking about it makes us realise how revolting it is!

Anyway enough of the political correctness-
I enjoyed tonight!
I think the Liz stuff was good-hope she dumps vermin soon.
The factory stuff was ok-i dont like nasty joanne. Expect nothing less from Kelly.
Deirdre at last is seeing the truth-cant wait for the next week of the trial! Toxic is so rude to her barrister!! Shocking!
Also liked Carla tonight again-shes showing more and more potential every night!

Hated Dev stuff-how many shirt jokes with Molly and Ambers cheeky comments can we have?! Boring.

an ok episode tonight, liz didnt waste her time did she, once vernon went, she agreed to go out with the delivery man, and when vernon came back she stayed, it was weird, is she in two minds, if she dosent want vernon why not tell him also is this delivery man not married, hope they dont start an affair up, liz is good at having affairs

Quite a dull episode tonight but at least there were no truly duff scenes.

Deirdre & Ken had most of the best stuff. I liked the way Deirdre mouthed "I'll tell you later" when Peter turned up whilst she was trying to tell Ken about the tape that Jason had given her. The little spat about Ken's comments on barristers & the English legal system was also quite good. I found Toxic's stuff a bit hard to believe when she was telling the barrister she'd say whatever he wanted her to. Toxic is meant to be sneaky & conniving but the way that she was acting meant that even Jayne, her solicitor was starting to question things.

Underworld stuff was nothing special. Quite why previously meek & mild Joanne has suddenly got a bit militant over Wiki is a bit of a mystery. Liked Liam's little line to Hayley about him preferring a cuddle as well as his phonecall to Paul telling her that Carla knew all about the accident in which Dean died.

Dev stuff was nothing special. That shirt made him look slightly porkier than normal so perhaps not the best choice he could have made there.

Leanne & Janice stuff was nothing startling. I want to know what's happened to Roger The Boyfriend.

Hasn't Liz been around the block enough to learn that tarting around only ends up with you getting your fingers burned. Same with Derek, although maybe his wife's a bit dim & doesn't realise he tries it on with pub landladies.

Hopefully Friday's will be an improvement.

5 out of 10.

I can't even remember him as Sinbad. He's been Ken for the past 7 years!
