I have to say that I am completely astonished at how quickly EE has lowered its high standards over the last few months resulting in an episode as rubbishy and banal as I have seen for some time. Normally nothing can beat this show with dramatic storylines. However Roy's death was awful. That argument with Pat did not ring true, his collapse was not even interesting and the surrounding story with Phil and his new woman was embarassing. Even more embarassing was Alfie's nan singing - and seeing people's reaction in the background.

Sorry to harp on about this but I am staggered how a show can fail so spectacularly since last November. I don't think Corrie even last year was ever this bad!

Roy's death came a bit too quickly and by the way i am so tired of alfie calling peggy duchess does anyone find that a bit annoying.

You're right - how can they make a character's death so boring? The argument with Pat over Barry was ridiculous and that and Roy's death provoked no emotion in me at all. And then you get the same old cliche of people in the pub singing and having a good time while Roy breaths his last. Boring boring boring

Saying don't watch it then is really annoying. I think this show can be brilliant. It just is not at the moment and needs to improve. Corrie can get away with it a lot more because of its older audience and because it has humour to fall back on. As a fan I have every right to have a moan about a show I like without being told to give up on it!

Roy was a boring character in a boring family with boring storylines. A boring death is fitting and I'm glad to see the back of him. That's enough boring for now!

Not everyone dies a dramatic or drawn out death...........most of us do go quietly so you could say that EE was reflecting true life even though it didn't make gripping television.

But he had a son and a wife who loved him. There could have been some drama there. Surely people around the Square would have been shocked? Nobody in the pub seemed to give a toss. Barry could have turned on Pat and blamed her, Pat could have blamed herself, they both could have blamed Ricky and Natalie, they could have blamed themselves for not being with him ... Even the 'he's gone, hasn't he?' could have made an impact - but it didn't.

How the f**k was Roys death realistic?

My god it was so over the top i even prayed for a heart attack my self.

I mean i am sure if someone has a heart attack they just dont get up off their bed and scream or do something like that. EE has turned into an American soap with a touch of crap Crossroads!

EE have a habit of doing this lately. Cutting between sadness and joy

Roys death/queen vic knees up

Jamies Death/ Billy and mo's wedding

I also think the the tacky pop video style needs to go. You know the one, Travis (or Coldplay) playing in the background whilst we see a shot of every EE whose situation at that moment perfectly fits the songs lyrics.

Yeukkkk

I tend to record it now, search through it and just watch anything that looks remotely interesting. I find I can watch the whole thing in about 5-10 minutes.

How did that big fat useless lump of lard that is BARRY end up inheriting Pat's House !!!!!!! And if memory serves me right, that house was Pat's before she ever met Roy. In fact wasn't it Frank's house originally, or have I lost the plot completely. A tad over the top as he turfed Pat out this evening, and all because she let Roy's bit and bobs be used for organ donation. He gave her 24 hours to get out.... it was like a Western...... you got 24 hours to get outta town !!!!! Jeepers, it will take her longer than that to pack the earrings. And another thing....... when did Peggy and Pat become so friendly again...... weren't they tearing lumps off each other not so long ago over Frank...... how easy they forget.

Yes - totally ridiculous. Something about the house having been signed over to Roy when they had marital difficulties and it never been signed back ... if it was her house, SHE would have had to sign it over to Roy. How likely is THAT when he has just thrown her out? Surely she's got a good case to go to court and make a claim?

Notice Barry didn't storm out in a huff when he thought it was HER house. He's such a bully. Lucky for the world that he hasn't got much of a brain.

Also ridiculous that he thought Pat had decided she wanted his body cut up when it was Roy who was carrying a donor card.

I think I mentioned a while back how easily I cry at these kind of things, but even I didn't even feel a pang of sympathy or sorrow for these characters.

I remember thinking back when Roy threw Pat out after her affair that it was her house. I couldn't understand it then and I don't understand now how it belongs to Roy or Barry.

Lucky for the world that he hasn't got much of a brain
And even luckier for us that he's leaving too.

The solicitor told Barry that the house had been transferred to Roy after "marital problems two years ago".

Barry is doing my head in, such a bully. Okay I know grief it a terrible thing but how on earth can it be Pat's fault if Roy was carrying a donor card?

I think that it was so predictable that yet again Pat is going to be left with nothing. That really annoys me,the writers just cant think of anything new.Im not looking forward to watching Pat with no home and no money and...well this time she ll still have her friends..maybe

i sodnt say it was crap it is just quiet for a bit, if they had huge dramatic storylines all the time i think people would get just as bored. All eastenders needs is a long running murder-sort-of-thing, maybe barry accidentaly killing pat!!

I like that idea!

The Barry storyline is pathetic and boring. Am looking forward to the Phil-Lisa double header in the week though.

Let's hope the Phil/Lisa thing is settled satisfactorily - I doubt it though!
