I think Lemar is very talented - his voice is lovely.
I don't really mind if he writes his songs or not, not every singer can write and not every writer can sing.

Lemar is a really talented young man.

Lemar has written pretty much all the songs on his 3 albums, apart from maybe a couple on each.
Album 1 - Lemar wrote 13 out of the 15 tracks. Lullaby is credited as written by Lemar AND Ainsley on the album sleeve. Album 2 - Lemar wrote 11 out of the 12 songs on the album. Album 3 - Lemar wrote 11 out of the 13 tracks on the album. |

I think he is amazing. I'm disappointed with his new single 'Tick Tock' though. The album version of this song is fantastic, but it's been speeded up and changed for its single release and it's not as good.

Lemar's new song is awful. Full marks to him for engineering free publicity on a show for charity

I think Lemar's a great singer, but I'm not generally keen on his songs.
Actually, I felt a bit embarassed for the producers of the show because they've had to get him on for two celeb FAs in a row. What I'd have thought would have been nice this year is instead of getting him on again, they'd had a theme night where the students had to sing one of the original songs released by former students of the proper show. That would have been really good. |

Hey, thanks for the comments. I just thought that while during FA1 he was an excellent 'copycat' soul singer, he has, in the meantime, really 'come into his own' as a 'voice'.
Happy viewing. WND |

1 Soulman - Lemar, Fitzgerald Scott, Adam Midgely, Jamie ReddingtonI'll leave someone else to hurt their eyes reading the small print for the other albums. Last edited by PeterWD : 18-03-2007 at 18:55. |

It's hard to tell with those credits how much of an input Lemar had - from what I've seen, some artists list the songwriters in the order of their contribution to the song (so the biggest is first). It looks from those as though Lemar is just by convention listed as the first songwriter, or he was the main writer in all of the songs he's listed in (which he could I guess, but I doubt it).
From Fame Academy, it did seem Lemar was the weakest songwriter out of the top 4. Lemar isn't the complete package in that sense, but for me it's his voice that makes him stand out. |
