Keeping old mobile number when switching

I've recently switched to Orange from o2 and I want to keep my old mobile number, as I can't be bothered with the hassle of trying to remember a new one.

When I was registering my phone (Sony Ericsson W800) with Orange, I was told I needed some sort of code in order to keep my old mobile number, though I don't know what this code is. Can anyone help?

Contact o2 and ask for your PAC code, give it to Orange and it'll take about 5 working days.
