would not bother, i have one, and you can only record one channel and watch another, you also cannot rewind live tv (like if the channel has been left on a channel for a hour and you come in and have missed the start of a program.) like some boxes, say you left in on bbc1 and you come in, yoiu can rewind tv upto 2 hours.

i will spend say 20-40 pounds more and get a beter box.

What do you expect for £80-100?

If you upgrade the firmware via PC, you can install Twin Record FW 1.0 which allows simultaneous recording of 2 seperate channels whilst watching a recorded program at the same time.

The Argos unit will probably have v4.9 (single record) installed and the current version is v5.3 which will be broadcast as an OAD (over air download) every now and then.

I have the 1.0 Twin record FW installed and it's working brilliantly. £95 for Twin recording PVR is a bargain!

Does this upgrade by any chance provide live rewind, aka auto-buffering, ie without having to timeshift first?

No, sorry. Twin Record is the main functionality difference.

If I think I might want to rewind on mine, I just pause it for a second at the start of the programme, then I have the option to rewind if I so choose! It's no real effort.
